Event Overview

Second Wind Running Club welcomes you to the Allerton Park Trail Run!

Course Information

• Distance: 5.7-mile course
• Trail Features: A good portion follows the Sangamon River with challenging hidden roots, ruts, and sharp turns.
• Impact: A portion of proceeds supports Allerton Park's trail maintenance and enhancements.
• Previous Donations: Funds have supported improvements like railings, erosion control, and a water fountain bottle filling station.

Participation Options

• Virtual Option: If you can’t join on race day, you can register for the virtual option. (Eligibility for age-group awards not included.)
• Event Dates: Virtual results can be entered from 10/25/26 through 10/31/26.
• Shirt Availability: To receive a race shirt, register by Wednesday, October 14th, 2026.
• No Shirt Option: Select 'no shirt' during registration if you prefer not to get a shirt.

Awards and Activities

• Monticello Triple Crown: Must register by October 14th, 2026, to qualify.
• Post-Race Gathering: The race ends in the meadow for gatherings with family and friends.
• Costumes: Costumes are encouraged given the race proximity to Halloween.
• Awards: Overall awards by gender, age group awards for top 3, and door prizes.

• Deadline: Registration ends promptly on race day, October 25th, at 8:30 AM.
• Volunteering: Opportunities available for those registered for Trail Run or Nature Walk.
• Volunteer Support: Guidance provided by the Race Director and experienced volunteers.

Important Notes

• Safety Notice: No dogs are allowed on the trail run or the nature walk.
• Family Friendly: The event is suitable for families with opportunities to gather post-race.
• Non-competitive Event: The 2-mile nature walk does not have awards.
• Fun Atmosphere: Engage in fun activities like the costume contest.
