Race Overview

Second Wind Running Club welcomes you to the Allerton Park Trail Run!

Course Details

• Distance: 5.7 miles
• Path: A good portion of the course follows the Sangamon River, presenting numerous challenges.
• Obstacles: Runners may encounter hidden roots, ruts, sharp turns, and other obstacles.
• Contribution: Proceeds help with trail maintenance and park enhancements.

Virtual Option

Can't join us on race day 10/25/26? Sign-up for the VIRTUAL option instead! Please note that you will not be eligible for any age-group awards. Virtual results can be entered from 10/25/26 through 10/31/26.

Race Shirt Information

• Shirt Guarantee: To guarantee a shirt, register by Wednesday, October 14th, 2026.
• No Shirt Option: Select 'no shirt' instead of a size during registration.
• Triple Crown Qualification: To qualify for the Monticello Triple Crown, register by October 14th, 2026.

Awards and Activities

• Gathering: The race ends in the meadow for family and friends to enjoy.
• Costumes: Costumes are encouraged out on the trails!
• Awards: Overall awards for top male, top female, top male masters, and top female masters.
• Age Group Awards: Top 3 M/F in various age categories (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).

Registration Details

Registration is via this page only and will end promptly on race day, October 25th, at 8:30am.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed! If you register for the trail run or nature walk on October 25th, you can also volunteer. Responsibilities will vary based on your sign-up opportunity. Further instructions and possibly training as needed or requested will be provided closer to the event.

Safety Guidelines

For safety purposes, no dogs are allowed on the trail run or the nature walk.
