Welcome to the Allerton Park Trail Run!

Second Wind Running Club welcomes you to the Allerton Park Trail Run!

Race Course

• Distance: 5.7 miles
• Location: Follows the Sangamon River
• Challenges: Hidden roots, ruts, sharp turns, and other obstacles
• Impact: Proceeds donate to Allerton Park for trail maintenance and enhancements

Virtual Race Option

Can't join us on race day 10/25/26? Sign-up for the VIRTUAL option instead!

• Eligibility: Not eligible for age-group awards
• Results Submission: Entered from 10/25/26 through 10/31/26

Registration Details

• Shirt Deadline: Register by October 14th, 2026, to guarantee a shirt
• No Shirt Option: Select 'no shirt' during registration
• Triple Crown Qualification: Register by October 14th, 2026
• Registration Close: Ends on race day, October 25th, at 8:30am

Awards and Gatherings

The race ends in the meadow where you can gather with family and friends. With the race close to Halloween, we’d love to see costumes out on the trails!

• Awards: Overall and age group awards available
• Categories: Top male, top female, top male masters, top female masters
• Age Groups: Top 3 M/F: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Extras: Door prizes and costume contest prizes

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers needed! Even if you register for either activity (Trail Run or Nature Walk) for Sunday, October 25th, 2026, you can also volunteer.

• Responsibilities: Vary based on the opportunity you sign up for
• Support: Guidance from Race Director or experienced volunteers available
• Training: Instructions and possible training provided as needed

For safety purposes, no dogs allowed on the trail run or the nature walk.
