Second Wind Running Club welcomes you to the Allerton Park Trail Run!
Race Details
- Date: October 26, 2025
- Location: Robert Allerton Park and Retreat Center, Monticello, IL
- Course: 5.7-mile course following the Sangamon River, featuring hidden roots, ruts, sharp turns, and other obstacles.
- Proceeds: A portion of proceeds supports trail maintenance and park enhancements.
Virtual Options
- Participation: Can't join us on race day? Sign-up for the VIRTUAL options!
- Eligibility: Note that you will not be eligible for any age-group awards.
- Results: Virtual results can be entered from October 26, 2025 through October 31, 2025.
Registration Information
- Race Shirt: Deadline to register and guarantee a shirt is Sunday, October 12th, 2025.
- No Shirt Option: Choose 'no shirt' during registration if you don’t want a shirt.
- Triple Crown Qualification: Must register by Sunday, October 12th, 2025.
- Registration Deadline: Ends promptly on race day, October 26th, at 8:30am.
Awards and Celebrations
- Post-Race Gathering: The race ends in the meadow for family and friends to gather.
- Costumes: Costumes are welcome as the race is close to Halloween!
- Awards: Overall 5.7-mile trail run awards and age group awards (top 3 M/F in each category).
- Nature Walk: The 2-mile nature walk is non-competitive with no awards.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Volunteers Needed: Help out even if registered for the race or nature walk.
- Responsibilities: Vary based on the opportunity you sign up for.
- Support: Race Director, volunteer captain, or team lead will provide direction.
- Additional Training: Further instructions may be provided closer to the event.
Important Safety Note
- No Dogs: For safety purposes, no dogs allowed on the trail run or the nature walk.
