COURSE LENGTH: 6-7 (10k+) mile course will travel a circuitous, well-marked route in and among the mostly unlit wooded environs of the South Loop of Knoxville's Urban Wilderness, touring Lost Chromosome and Helix Trails to the east.
COURSE DETAILS: NOTE: Trails will be marked but not illuminated. You will need to bring a flashlight or headlamp to be allowed onto the course.
COURSE TYPE: Course will be a miniaturized, less dark version of the adult course and guaranteed to be fun!
REGISTRATION TERMS: Registration fees above, KTC member discount accepted. Not a member of KTC? Sign up here!
SAVE BIG: Sign up online for 7 for $109 Season Pass, or Kids 7 for $29 Kids Pass bundle deals and SAVE BIG! Trail Series Bundle Expires June 1.
SHIRT POLICY: Special limited edition T-shirts will be printed for the series. This is the same shirt as at all other Treadin’ Trodden Trails races: one shirt per runner PER SEASON please. Taking multiple shirts minimizes monies we are able to donate to trail friendly causes.
Awards Information: This year we'll be awarding the top 3 in each division free race entries. Additionally we'll hold a drawing so that two lucky runners get a pair of shoes, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Runners Market. We'll once again be presenting the awards at the annual KTC Holiday Party in December.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT: Reminder, to qualify for series awards (and free shoes!), you’ll need to be a member of KTC, and you will need to have volunteered two times during the course of the trail race season.
VIEW RESULTS: Results will be available on this RunSignup page at the Results link.
CONDUCT RULES: We reserve the right to disqualify anyone who exhibits unsportsmanlike conduct or is abusive to volunteers. Due to insurance regulations, no headsets, earphones, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades or pets on the course.
AID STATIONS: Aid and water stations will be provided, but in an effort to be greener, we urge all runners to carry their own water, i.e., there will be only very small cups supplied at the aid stations.
MEDICATION RECOMMENDATION: We also strongly recommend that anyone sensitive to insect stings or bites carry their own medication.
TRAINING ADVICE: Finally, we urge that everyone do some pre-race training offroad, as there is no substitute for experience. We want you to have a good time.
AGE POLICY: Our primary goal is to keep everybody safe out there in the woods. Runners under 12 years old will need to be accompanied by an adult in order to run the adult race (i.e. not the kids mile).
PACE REQUIREMENT: We’ll need to start enforcing the 18:00/mile minimum pace to ensure our volunteers are not in the woods longer than necessary. Moving forward, each race will have a sweeper and runners must maintain the pace to stay in the race.
BIB SAFETY: DON’T TAKE A BIB IF YOU'RE NOT RUNNING. If you take a bib, we think you’re running the race. If you drop out, please let a race official know so you are accounted for. Do not crunch, fold, or tear off the bib.
VOLUNTEER SIGN UP: We love our volunteers! Please connect with us if you’d like to volunteer (trails@ktc.org), and you can find openings at the "Volunteer" link above.
REQUIREMENTS FOR AWARDS: To qualify for a Grand Prix award, runners must volunteer for a minimum of two events. Each trail race has opportunities for runners and supporters.
POLICY VIEWING: The Knoxville Track Club Board of Directors has approved an Event Safety Policy, viewable here: Weather Policy. Please familiarize yourself with it.
