Dulles 5K/10K on the Runway

🏃‍♂️ Dulles 5K/10K Overview

This is your opportunity for the flattest, fastest course in the area! The runway will be closed off for runners to experience a unique look at the airport grounds, something you do not get to do every day! Run past planes and along the actual landing strip on this certified looped course.

📅 Race Date

• Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025
• 5K Start: 7:30 a.m.
• 10K Start: 7:40 a.m.
• Course: The 10K will run the entire length of the runway.

🅿️ Parking and Timing

Please allow time to park, walk through the museum and to the starting line: it is important to start each race on time.

• Deadline: All participants must be off the runway by 9:00 a.m.
• Final Segment: The last 1/2 mile will be on a connector.
• Finish Assurance: We haven’t had a runner unable to finish the course yet.

💧 Course Provisions

We plan to have water stations along the course: however, you are encouraged to carry your own water, if needed.

💰 Registration Fees

Sign up early! There is a limit of 2,500 runners.

• 5K Fees: $40 through June 30: $45 through August 31: $50 until sold out or race start.
• 10K Fees: $50 through June 30: $55 through August 31: $60 until sold out or race start.
• Registration: All participants must register online in advance to attend packet pickup.
• Beneficiaries: Race proceeds will support Special Olympics Virginia, Committee for Dulles Community Outreach, and Washington Airports Task Force.

🎽 Swag and Finisher Medals

Participants registered prior to September 1, 2025, will be guaranteed 2025 Dulles 5K/10K tech t-shirts. All others will receive shirts on a first-come first-served basis. All finishers will receive a one-of-a-kind finishers medal.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Winners: Top male and top female for both races will receive a round-trip certificate from United Airlines and a weekend stay at the Washington Dulles Airport Marriott.
• Age Group Awards: Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in various age groups, from 12 & under to 71 & over.
• Claiming Awards: All awards must be claimed within 2 weeks of the conclusion of the race.
