🎉 Welcome to the Springbrook Splash!

Come and join us for the 40th Year of our favorite pool race! That's right - this year marks the 40th anniversary of the July 5k/10k. If you're scratching your head, that's because the race started out as the Carter Mill Splash and continued there for 35 years before your enthusiasm for a pool finish race grew the attendance to where we needed a bigger pool! Hence the last 5 years being at Springbrook Pool. Whichever way you look at it, this is the only race put on by KTC that ends in a pool finish! Bring your family and friends to hang out in the pool while you run and then do a cool down lap in the pool after!

🗺️ Directions

From Knoxville go south on Highway 129 (Alcoa Highway) to East Hunt Road exit. Take East Hunt Road and turn right on Springbrook Road. Go approximately 1 mile and turn left on Faraday Street. Springbrook Pool is on your right. Please watch for ongoing Alcoa Highway construction in 2023.

🏨 Lodging

We are grateful that the Hilton Knoxville Airport is literally across the highway from our race location. They have offered a special discount for KTC runners. When booking online at hilton.com, enter the following code number in the "Corp ID" field: 3237153. Alternatively, you can call the hotel directly at 865-970-4300 and ask for the Knoxville Track Club rate.

🚗 Parking

Parking is available at several lots nearby. These include the Springbrook Pool parking lot, the Springbrook Recreation Center parking lot, or Alcoa Little League Park lot. Other nearby lots are at Alcoa First United Methodist Church and Alcoa Elementary School. Please be responsible at all church, school and public parking lots and make sure to properly dispose of your trash. Please do NOT park in the condominium parking across from the pool.

🏃‍♂️ Course Description and Highlights

USATF Certified Course - TN24021MS. Course starts and finishes at Springbrook Pool in Alcoa. The 5k will be one 3.1-mile loop, the 10k will be two loops. There will be two aid stations, one at mile 1.2/4.3 and one at mile 3.1/finish. Turn-by-Turn and Map

🎁 Swag

Back by popular demand - the bucket hat!! We heard you, you loved them and have enough towels for a while so this year, everyone Pre-registered by June 30th will receive a custom bucket hat on race day (no t-shirts), unless one opts for no hat at registration. Late Registrants will receive hats as supplies last.

🍉 Refreshments

Post-race refreshments and swimming will be provided for all runners and walkers at the pool. Please bring your own refreshments if you have specific dietary needs or food allergies.

🏆 Awards

Awards to the top 3 Overall, top Masters (As defined by fastest person age 40 and above, not limited to 40-49) Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 50 and above, not limited to 50-59), Senior Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 60 and above, not limited to 60-69) male and female. Age Divisions will be in 5 year increments (three deep). Awards to the top Clydesdale (male, 200 lbs+) and Athena (female, 150 lbs+). Overall winners not eligible for age division awards. Awards must be picked up during the awards ceremony. Awards will not be mailed.

🧩 Grand Prix Points Team Competition

The Springbrook Splash 10k and 5k are on the 2025 Team Competition schedule. 2025 Grand Prix Points awarded winners in various categories and age groups. Points accumulate throughout the year. KTC recognizes the top 10 men and women in the Grand Prix series at the New Year’s Day 5K on January 1, 2026. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix Points, participants must be a member of KTC and must volunteer for at least 3 KTC races throughout the year.

📏 Race Etiquette

Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. Failure to follow might result in disqualification.
