Join us for FYMO’s 7TH “Giving to Live” 5K Cancer Run/Walk — an inspiring and energetic event to honor, support, and celebrate those affected by cancer. Happening end of summer, this fun, family-friendly run/walk invites individuals, families, co-workers, and community groups to come together for a meaningful cause.

• Event Purpose: To honor and support those affected by cancer.
• Educational Resources: Available about cancer awareness.
• Celebrate Survivors: Opportunities to celebrate those who have overcome cancer.
• Help Local Patients: All proceeds benefit cancer patients and those in recent remission!

👟 Honoring Jamaal

If someone you know has been touched by cancer, we invite you to walk or run in their honor! This year, we’re rallying for 16-year-old Jamaal, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma just ten days before his 16th birthday and two weeks into his junior year of high school.

• Jamaal's Journey: Instead of walking the halls with his classmates, Jamaal has spent his year traveling back and forth for chemotherapy treatments.
• Your Contribution: By participating in this event, you’re directly helping Jamaal and others like him.

🎉 Event Activities

In addition to the 5K Run/Walk, the “Giving to Live” event also offers live entertainment, complimentary massages, mini facials, prizes, and a Kidz Fun Run.

• Entertainment: Enjoy live music throughout the event.
• Fun for Kids: Exciting activities planned for children.
• Freebies: Participants receive a Free T-Shirt & Swag Bag (while supplies last).

• 7:30 AM: Wellness Alley Open (7:30AM-2:00PM)
• 7:30 AM: Registration/Check-in
• 8:30 AM: Warm up
• 9:00 AM: Run begins
• 9:05 AM: Walk begins
• 10:00 AM: Kids Fun Race
• 10:30 AM: Award Ceremony

📍 Event Location

Elk Grove Park is located at 9950 Elk Grove-Florin Rd., Elk Grove CA 95624.

• Directions: From Highway 99, take the Elk Grove Boulevard exit and head east. Make a right turn onto Elk Grove/Florin Road. The Park entrance is on the right, approximately ¾ mile from Elk Grove Boulevard.
• Meeting Point: We will meet near The Jerry Fox Swim Center, located within Elk Grove Park.
• Run Course: The run course will be along the Multi Use Trail around the scenic lake views.
• Packet Pick-Up: Information will be emailed 2 weeks prior to the event.
