Summer Sley 5K & 1 Mile Fun Walk - Run for Rilyn

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Type: Timed 5K with shirts provided if signed up by the shirt deadline date.
• Location: Starts and ends at Helicon Brewing, 102 Union Ave, Oakdale, PA 15071.
• Course: 1.55 miles on the Panhandle trail towards McDonald and back.
• Additional Event: A 1 mile family fun walk available, not timed, with a t-shirt add on option.

📅 Event Details

• Packet Pickup: Day-of packet pickup available.
• Communication: Additional information will be sent to all registered runners a day or two before the race.
• Shirts: Next Level Tri-Blend unisex t-shirts that are runner favorites, featuring "Summer Sley 5K".

💖 Support Rilyn

• Purpose: All donations will support 6-year-old Rilyn in her fight against High-Risk Neuroblastoma.
• Battle: Rilyn has been battling this illness since she was just 18 months old.
• Family's Struggle: The Hughes family has faced unimaginable challenges in Rilyn's treatment journey.
• Current Situation: After exhausting all treatments, Rilyn will undergo an orbital exenteration surgery on June 9th.

💔 Rilyn's Journey

• Diagnosis: Rilyn was diagnosed in April 2020 with High-Risk Neuroblastoma.
• Treatments: Over 40 cycles of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, 44 sessions of radiation, and multiple surgeries.
• Travel: The family has traveled to New York City, Philadelphia, and Houston for treatments and clinical trials.
• Surgery Details: The surgery aims to remove a tumor but will result in the loss of Rilyn's eye and optic nerve.
