🏃‍♂️ 10th Annual Chas Foundation 5K and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk

A charity fundraiser event now in its 10th year benefiting local initiatives to improve delivery of mental health care in the Hampton Roads area. The race is a certified fast out and back 5K course and a 1 mile Fun Run that courses through the scenic Harbour View area of Suffolk that runs along side a golf course and passes several beautiful lakes. Race bling includes an awesome custom long sleeve tech running shirt and a runner/walker waist pack for the first 250 at packet pick up. Easy parking available. This race has something for everyone from elite runners to walkers. Coffee and donuts served after the race.

🏞 DESCRIPTION

• Course: Start and finish areas are located at Towne Bank University. Race Route is a certified scenic, flat, paved 5K and 1 mile course that meanders through neighborhood streets along a golf course with a water stop and course marshals.
• Benefit: Proceeds from the race will be used by the Chas Foundation to improve access to local mental health care. Board members will be on site to answer any questions and explain ongoing programs this race supports.

• Packet Pickup: Friday, September 13th, 3:15PM - 6:00PM at Running Etc, 1707 Colley Ave, Norfolk, Va 23517 and September 14th at Race site, 7:30 AM.
• Schedule of Events:
  • September 13th: 3:15 to 6:00pm pre-race packet pickup at Running Etc. in Norfolk
  • September 14th:
    • 7:30 AM - Packet Pickup/Registration
    • 8:00 AM - Opening Ceremonies
    • 8:30 AM - 5K (3.1 miles) Race and 1 mile Fun run/walk
    • 9:30 AM - Award ceremony

🏅 AWARDS

• 5K: New course record holders will receive cash awards and medals. Various other awards for different categories of winners. No awards given in the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.
• RACE SWAG: Great race swag for both events includes an awesome long sleeve "tech" running shirt and custom running socks for the first 250 at packet pick up.
