Gift of Life Walk & Run

Event Overview

The Lifebanc Gift of Life Walk & Run is a powerful community event celebrating organ, eye and tissue donors, honoring their loved ones, recognizing transplant recipients, and providing hope to those still waiting for a hero. Join us on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Blossom Music Center for a 5K race, 1K walk, family activities, food trucks, music, and more — all in support of Lifebanc’s mission to educate our community about organ, eye, and tissue donation and support donor families throughout Northeast Ohio.

Community Need

• Significance: The need for organ and tissue donors in Northeast Ohio is great.
• Vision: Lifebanc pursues a future where everyone on the transplant waiting list receives a life-saving transplant.
• Funding: All fundraising goes towards educating the community about organ, eye, and tissue donation.
• Support Services: Providing support services for donor families is a primary focus.

Special Guests

• Cleveland Cavaliers: In partnership with the Cleveland Cavaliers, this year's Gift of Life Walk & Run will feature appearances by a Cavs Legend, taking photos and signing autographs.
• Entertainment: Moondog, the Cavs mascot, and The Cavs Entertainment Team will amp people up before the run.
• Interviews: Special Guest Stefani Schaefer will interview Lifebanc CEO, Katie Payne before the Legacy Garden ceremony.
• Raffles: The Cavaliers will be giving away a signed basketball to a lucky Team Cavs racer.

Fees

• Early Bird: $26 thru June 5
• Regular: $40 - June 6 thru August 20
• Late: $45 - August 21 thru race day

Race Packet Pickup

• Early Packet: Wednesday, August 19: 10am-2pm at 4775 Richmond Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44128
• Additional Early Pickup: Thursday, August 20: 10am-2pm at same location
• Race Day Pickup: Sunday, August 23: Beginning at 7:30am at Blossom Music Center

What You Get

• T-Shirt: All participants receive a race T-shirt.
• Timing: MyLaps BibTag Timing 5K results.
• Medals: Custom finisher medals for all participants.
• Post Race: Refreshments will be available post-race.

Donations Information

There is a standard 4% processing fee for all donations made online. If you would like to skip the fee, we welcome you to send a check directly to Lifebanc at this address:

Awards

Top runner Male and Female in the 5K. Top 3 Male and Female in each age group: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over.
