DC’s largest and only Turkey Trot, dedicated to fighting poverty and homelessness. Join this family-friendly 5K and Little Turkey one-miler on the best course in the U.S. This Thanksgiving, be part of a time-honored DC tradition—SOME's 24th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger 5K. 🏃‍♂️ In-Person Race & Festival

Join us at Freedom Plaza on November 27, 2025 - Thanksgiving Morning - for a timed or untimed 5K, our Little Turkey 1-Miler, and a family-friendly finisher festival!

📅 Event Timeline

• 6:30 am: Bib Pick Up Opens on Freedom Plaza
• 7:30 am: Little Turkey 1 Miler Starts
• 8:15 am: 5K Starts
• 8:45 am: 5K Start Line Closes
• 9:15 am: Awards Ceremony
• 9:30 am: Best Dressed Turkey (Pet Costume) Competition
• 10:30 am: Roads Re-open

📦 Pre-Race Packet Pick Up

Pre-race Packet Pick Up is your only opportunity to pick up your t-shirt before the race. If you do not attend pre-race packet pick, you will not be able to pick up your t-shirt until after 9:00 am on race day.
