The Road Race for Education, presented by Principle Intelligence, is an annual event located in the heart of East Atlanta. This event, now in its 45th year, brings together the East Lake Community and East Atlanta Neighbors to celebrate and advocate for quality education. The road race was previously named The Mohammed Ali Road Race in honor of the legendary athlete Muhammad Ali. This race symbolizes courage, determination, and community spirit.

🎽 Registration Information

In-person 5K registration Includes: Road Race for Education participant shirt (while supplies last), participant medal, chipped-timed 5K road race - USTAF Certified Course, and Peachtree Qualifier.

Virtual 5K registration Includes: Road Race for Education participant shirt, packet shipping not included in registration, and access to virtual results reporting.

🗓️ Planning and Updates Timeline

• Transfer Policy: All registrations are transferable: however, they are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please only sign up if you are 100% sure you are prepared to participate in the Road Race for Education 2026 in the selected format. Refunds will not be issued for registrations due to changes in race presentation.
• Packet Pickup: All participant packets must be picked up at the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam on: August 29, 2026, 1 PM - 5 PM.
• Virtual Transfer Deadline: The deadline to transfer your race to Virtual is midnight on August 22. Follow the instructions HERE. Please note that in-person participant packets will not be mailed out.

💰 Registration & Pricing Schedule

• Prior to August 1, 2025: Race Shirt Deadline - Register before this date to be guaranteed a race shirt: 5k Run/Walk - $50, Senior Walk $45, Student Run $25, Kids Fun Run $20.
• August 2, 2026: Late Registration Pricing/ Virtual 5K Registration Closes - 5k Run/Walk $55, Senior Walk $45, Student Run $45, Kids Fun Run - $20.
• Virtual Pricing: $45 for VIRTUAL 5K (does not include shipping). Convert your registration from In-Person to Virtual or From Virtual to In-Person (by 8/21/2026).

The Road Race for Education will positively impact the community in the following manner:

• Community Celebration: The Road Race for Education is a lively celebration and festival promoting quality education. Participants of all ages, from young children to seasoned adults, enthusiastically join in the festivities, highlighting the race's inclusive nature and its significant impact on bridging generations and communities.
• Community Engagement: The community will be actively engaged in the course planning and volunteer opportunities.
• Funding Support: Proceeds from the race directly support the mission of Mohammed Schools of Atlanta, providing crucial funding for educational resources, programs, and scholarships.
• Values-based Education: By investing in independent education, the race helps to ensure that students receive a high-quality, values-based education that prepares them for academic success and future leadership roles.

The Road Race for Education 2026 weekend will include a community-wide service project. Please check back for more details closer to the race. Participants will have an opportunity to contribute directly to Mohammed Schools of Atlanta via RunSignUp.
