The OMKC Non-Runners Run or Go the Extra Mile for the Military Kids

Event Overview

On Saturday October 17th, Operation Military Kids Club (OMKC) will be hosting its 8th annual Non-Runners Run, while also offering the 1.5 mile option...for those who want to "Go the Xtra Mile...For the Military Kid.

Registration Fees

• Adults (18 and older): $25 for the 1/2 mile and $35 for the 1.5 mile
• Youth (ages 5-17): $15
• Children (Under 5): FREE

Race Details

• Distance: The race is a half mile with a donut/water stop at the halfway mark. The 1.5 mile participants will continue on until the full mile is completed.
• Age Restrictions: All registered participants 21 and over will receive a ticket for a free beer at the Salty Turtle at the end of the race. Root beer will be provided for those 20 and under.
• Start Time and Location: The course starts at 10:00am at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church (14201 NC Hwy 50 Surf City, NC 28445) and ends at The Salty Turtle (103 Triton Lane Surf City, NC 28445).
• T-shirts: All participants will receive a t-shirt if signed up 2 weeks before the event starts (by November 1st).

Accessibility and Rules

• Stroller and Wheelchair Friendly: This race is stroller and wheelchair accessible.
• Pet Policy: No dogs, with the exception of service dogs, are allowed on the race course.
• Costume Awards: Awards will be given to the most patriotic attire/costumes.

Charity Information

All proceeds benefit Operation Military Kids Club - OMKC is a Non-Profit 501c3 organization and the proceeds of this race go directly to support the events for connecting military children in our community. TAX ID: 822410100

Parking is available at Faith Harbor and The Salty Turtle. Carpooling is highly recommended.
