EVENT DESCRIPTION

• New Course: Register today for the 21st Annual New Mexico Chips and Salsa Half Marathon, along with the 10K, 5K, Kids K, and Virtual Run.
• Venue: This exciting event is one you won’t want to miss!
• Location: Join hundreds of participants on the new, fast, flat loop course that winds through the scenic North Valley and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque.
• Autumn Events: There's no better time to visit Albuquerque, with the State Fair, hot air balloons, and the aroma of fresh chile in the air.

• Awards: The NM Chips and Salsa Half Marathon features age group and overall awards.

EVENT INFORMATION

• Event Location: Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, 9169 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120
• Event Schedule: September 14, 2025: Half Marathon - 7:00 am (3.5 Hour Cut-off), 5K - 7:30 am, 10K - 7:40 am, Kids K - 9:00 am.
• Arrival Time: All participants should arrive before 6:30 am to park and be at the start on time.
• Packet Pickup: September 13, 2025, from 11:00 to 3:00 pm at Fleet Feet Sports, North Towne Plaza, 5901 Wyoming Suite R, Albuquerque, NM 87109.

REGISTRATION

• Late Registration: Race-day registration is available: however, all pre-registered participants must pick up their event packets at Packet Pickup.
• Packet Collection: If you cannot pick up your packets in person, arrange for a representative to do so.
• Virtual Run/Walk: Registered participants may opt for packet shipping.
• Shipping Information: Ensure you enter your mailing address when registering for the Event if you choose to have your packet mailed to you.

RUN/WALK INSTRUCTIONS

• Step 1: Walk or run ANYTIME between September 6 and 14, 2025, and record your race time.
• Step 2: Email your race completion time to stephenpino@hotmail.com.
• Step 3: Submit a selfie on the RunFit Facebook.
• Note: Steps 2 and 3 are optional: Kids K is a non-timed event.

EVENT DAY CONDUCT

• Conduct: All participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and courteously.
• Public Health Guidelines: Event attendees must adhere to city, state, and public health guidelines and orders.
• Behavior: Participants must follow instructions from all Event officials during the Event.
• Health Concerns: Sick participants or those exhibiting symptoms of illness should not attend.

MEDICAL SUPPORT

• Medical Staff: Staff members will be ready to assist you at any time.
• Health Risks: Participants must immediately retire from the race if ordered by an official.
• Support Availability: Medical personnel may remove a participant if deemed necessary for their health.
• Emergency Protocol: Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race due to inclement weather or other conditions.

RESULT TIMING

• Timing Device: All participants are assigned an electronic timing device attached to their bib.
• Wearing Chip: To receive an accurate finish time, participants must wear their assigned timing device.
• Disqualification: Wearing multiple timing devices will lead to disqualification.
• Finish Time: All finish times are reviewed before being made official, and appeals can be submitted.

LOCATION AND PARKING

• Designated Parking: Please use designated parking areas/spaces to avoid congestion along the course.
• Lodging: Several fine hotels are available in and around Albuquerque for participants.
• Gear Bag: Half Marathon participants may check gear near the Start Line.
• Bib Requirements: Each participant must wear their Race (Bib) number visibly on race day.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• iPod/Headphones: Yes, headphones are allowed. Athletes competing for prizes cannot use electronic devices.
• GPS Devices: Participants may wear GPS watches or devices, but do not count as timing devices.
• Lost & Found: A Lost & Found will be available for lost items on race day.
• Refund Policy: All entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be deferred toward a future event.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

• Weather Monitoring: Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the Event.
• Communication: Predictions will be communicated to participants on the RunFit website.
• Delay or Cancel: The Race Director will decide if any action will be taken based on weather conditions.
• Public Announcements: Listen closely to all public address announcements at the race’s starting line.

• Volunteer Needs: Over 75 volunteers are needed to make the Half Marathon run smoothly.
