The Ascent 5K is a run, walk, or roll event hosted by The Phoenix Journey, a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering those with autoimmune diseases to change and sustain a new lifestyle in order to improve their current state of disease one person at a time.

This event isn’t just a race, it’s a movement of resilience, community, and hope. This year, to make it extra special, we are encouraging group participants to come rocking their best costumes. Every step on the course represents the daily climb faced by autoimmune warriors. Let's show some support and rise higher together.

Join us on Saturday, March 28th in Spring, Tx at Rob Fleming Park for a family-friendly celebration with music, vendors, giveaways, post-race refreshments, and a whole lot of fun! Whether you’re running for time, walking with friends, rolling with your support team, or cheering from the sidelines, you’re part of The Ascent.

🏅 The Ascent 5K — Run | Walk | Roll

• Event Type: Competitive, timed 5K with age-group awards for registered runners
• Awards: Additional awards for Best Costume(s), Most Creative Costume(s), & Largest Group
• Participation: Walkers, rollers, and fun-run participants are welcome at any pace
• Course Details: 1-hour time limit to complete the course, mile markers throughout the route

👶 Kids Dash (.25 Mile)

A short, exciting race for children 10 and under to experience the fun of racing the Ascent! Top 3 finishers receive awards.

🙌 Volunteer & Run Option

Help us bring The Ascent to life - and then run it!

• Arrival Time: Arrive 1.5 hours before race start
• Roles: Assist with setup and registration, run the 5K, then celebrate with the community as a volunteer at the finish line.
• Discount: Includes our best participant discount.

• Packet Pick-Up: 7:00 AM – Race HQ at Rob Fleming Park, 6055 Creekside Forest Dr, Spring, TX 77389
• Schedule: 7:55 AM – Prayer & Pledge, 8:00 AM – Kids Dash Start, 8:15 AM – The Ascent 5K Start, 9:15 AM – Course Closes

The safety of all participants, volunteers, and spectators is our top priority.

• Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to 1 hour.
• Course Alterations: Past this time, the event course may be shortened or altered to protect the participants.
• No Refund Policy: We have a strict no-refund policy: all events proceed rain, shine, snow, or cold.
• Cancellation: If conditions turn unsafe, the event may be cancelled at the discretion of the Race Director.
