The Dallas Running Club (“DRC” or the “Club”) was founded in 1969 as a grassroots organization dedicated to building and supporting the Dallas running community. Founder Tal Morrison started the Club by stopping runners he met around White Rock Lake, collecting their contact information, and inviting them to join him for group runs. The Dallas Running Club has remained a grassroots running club serving the Dallas running community for over 55 years. DRC hosts four club races of varying distances each year, as well as two annual half marathons. Proceeds from the half marathons help fund the Tal Morrison Scholarship, established in honor of the Club’s founder and his passion for health and fitness. The scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating students who actively participate in their school’s cross-country running programs.
While DRC races may be small, they are full of heart. DRC is a 100 percent volunteer-run organization, and its success is made possible by individuals who generously give their time to support the Dallas running community. We are glad you are here to race with us and hope you will consider volunteering in the future.
