SeaWorld's Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run: The Howl-O-Sprint Returns for Year Three

On Friday, September 18, 2026, as night falls over SeaWorld Orlando, the shadows come alive. Step into the only nighttime terror run of its kind — Howl-O-Sprint 5K — where relentless creatures stalk your every step and whispers of curses hang in the air.

Race past roller coasters haunted by unspeakable horrors. Navigate eerie landscapes and harrowing scare zones lurking in the park’s darkest corners. Every stride is a fight-or-flight moment… and the finish line may be your only escape.

After you survive, celebrate your victory at the exclusive post-race party — open only to runners and a limited number of spectators — until 11:00 p.m.

Important Information

• Warning: Howl-O-Scream is intended for a mature audience and contains intense adult content including violence, gore, and blood. The nighttime Howl-O-Scream event is separately ticketed and not included with Howl-O-Sprint registration. No costumes allowed.
• Event Dates: All event dates and details are subject to change and/or cancellation without prior notice.
• Parking: The parking lot for racers opens at 6:30 p.m., with the event starting at 7:00 p.m.
• Awards: SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream has been voted #1 Best Theme Park Halloween Event for 2023 by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

5K Event Night Timeline

• 6:00 p.m: Parking lot opens for participants
• 6:30 p.m: Registration and Packet Pickup opens
• 7:30 p.m: Parking lot closes - please plan to be onsite 45 minutes prior to race start!
• 8:00 p.m: START of the Howl-O-Sprint 5K

5K Race Amenities

• Participation: Join us as we celebrate Howl-O-Scream in Orlando and be a part of year 3 of Howl-O-Sprint 5K.
• Finisher's Medal: All run participants receive a SeaWorld's Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run Finisher's medal.
• Commemorative T-Shirt: Participants get a commemorative SeaWorld Howl-O-Sprint Run Race T-shirt (adult sizes & unisex).
• Post-Race Celebration: Celebrate with food, a Howl-O-Scream bar, and live entertainment.

Race Awards

Awards will go to the top 3 overall Male and Female finishers only in the SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run event. Awards will be as follows:

• 1st Place: Gold - $100 Gift Card to Howl-O-Scream Gift Shop
• 2nd Place: Silver - $75 Gift Card to Howl-O-Scream Gift Shop
• 3rd Place: Bronze - $50 Gift Card to Howl-O-Scream Gift Shop

Registration Fees

Total race capacity: 2,000 participants

• In-Person Registration: $85.00 through September 4, 2026; $90.00 from September 5 - September 17, 2026; $100.00 on Race Day (if not sold out)
• Annual Passholder: $66.66 through September 4, 2026; $85.00 from September 5 - September 17, 2026; $95.00 on Race Day (if not sold out)
• Virtual Registration: $100 thru 9/18/2026 at 12:01 a.m. (if not sold out)
• Spectator Tickets: $25.00, limited to 500; allows access to the pavilion area and post-race festivities.

Weather & Safety Information

Races will be held rain or shine; however, if there is severe weather, the race start may be delayed or cancelled. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, baby carriers, and dogs are prohibited from the racecourse.

Early Packet Pickup

WHEN: Tuesday, September 15th and Wednesday, September 16th*

LOCATION: TBD

TIME: 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM both days

RACE DAY: Packets can also be picked up at SeaWorld Orlando starting at 6:30 PM. Additional time should be allowed for picking up your packet due to parking and potential lines.

*Friends and family can pick up packets for other people.
