Race Description

• Event Information: Join the Seashore Striders for a great four-legged cause as the 18th Race for the Paws 5k, 5k Walk & 1m dog walk.
• Purpose: Proceeds go towards the Humane Animal Partners (HAP) in memory of loved four-legged friends.
• Championship Series: This is the 10th event in the popular Seashore Strider Championship Series.

Race Time

• Start Time: 7:30 am - Dogs will go off at the same time from the back of the pack.

Race Registration

• Early Bird Registration: $30.00 through July 19th at midnight.
• Pre Registration: $35.00 from July 20th through July 31st at midnight.
• Race-Day Registration: $40.00 at 6:00 am, closing at 7:15 am.
• Online Registration: All participants registered by July 27th will receive a new beach towel.

Ways to Register

• Online: Online registration through RUNSIGNUP is the easiest way.
• Mail-In: Mail-in registration can be done by printing the universal entry form from seashorestriders.com.
• Payment: Make checks payable to "Seashore Striders".
• Deadline: Mail completed forms early to secure event swag.

Race Course

• Course Details: The 18th Run for the Paws 5k is a flat & fast course through the Seabreeze Development of Dewey Beach.
• Certification: This is a USATF Certified 5k Course, covering a distance of 3.11 miles.

Race Timing

• Timing System: Timing will be done by the Seashore Strider Event Production team using the Chronotrack B Chip system.

Race Amenities

• Finish Line: Produced by “Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc.”
• Awards Ceremony: Post-race awards ceremony within 20 minutes following the final finisher.
• After Party: Enjoy Bloody Mary’s, Dogfish Beer, Kona ice, fruit, and more.
• Parking: Extended hours to 11 am, no need to feed the meter.

Awards

• Champions: Overall Male & Female Champions and Masters will receive awards.
• Age Groups: Top three Male & Female finishers in age categories 9 & under to 80 & over.

Walker Note

• New Division: A separate 5K WALK DIVISION will be added for all eight series 5k events.
• Judging Standards: Race walking differs from running by requiring contact with the ground at all times.
• Awards: Awards for the WALK will be given to the top 5 male & female in those events.

• No Refund Policy: The Seashore Striders have a "No Refund" policy.
• Transfer Options: Transfer to a future event or donate your entry fee.
