May Mile a Day Challenge
The mile a day challenge is running 1 mile per day for the 31 days of May.
There’s no doubt about it – adding daily exercise is a great way to improve your overall health and fitness. A mile a day challenge will help both new and seasoned runners stay motivated to get moving every single day.
Another benefit of running a mile a day is that the simple act of doing something daily helps create a habit. The challenge helps stay accountable in the beginning, and by the end, most runners find themselves enjoying the daily activity and wanting to keep it up.
One of the best parts about running a mile is that it requires very little experience or fitness. Except for those with a specific health or physical limitation, most adults can safely complete a mile. Whether you finish in 6 minutes or 15 minutes, a mile is still a mile.
Carolee’s challenge to you:
Run a mile the first day and time yourself and then on the 31st see if your time has improved. To get the most out of this challenge really apply yourself by running your pace, then be consistent, and run as fast as you can the last day of the challenge. Send me a picture of your data the first day by 5/3 and then your data for the last day by 6/2. caroleeluther@gmail.com
Nearly every runner can attest to the fact that staying consistent with their exercise encourages them to make other healthy choices as well.
In addition to the monthly coin for those that complete the challenge there will be an additional goodie for those that drop their mile time.
Your mile can be part of any distance you plan to run that day but must be at least one mile per day.
