Benefitting Henry County Special Olympics – A Thanksgiving Morning Tradition! Get ready to lace up and gobble down the miles! The Turkey Trot of McDonough is back and bigger than ever—bringing together families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts for South Atlanta's largest Thanksgiving Day race.

Join runners from across the country—including sunny California and Florida—as we blend fun, fitness, and festivity in one unforgettable morning.

Event Highlights

• Pre-Race Celebration: Kick off the morning with lively music and a heart-pumping warm-up to get you in the trot spirit.
• Race Options: Choose your challenge with a 1 Mile Fun Run or 5K —perfect for all ages and fitness levels.
• Awards & Recognition: Compete for awards medals presented to the top 3 finishers in each age group—from the littlest turkeys to our most seasoned trotters.
• Support a Great Cause: Proceeds benefit the Special Olympics of Henry County, so your stride helps make a difference.

• Overall Awards: 1st place Male and Female Overall and 1st place Masters (over 40) Male and Female
• Age Division: 14 & under, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75+

Packet Pickup Options

• Early Packet Pickup: Tuesday, November 25 - Time and location TBD.
• Race Day Pickup: Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Morning) 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM at Academy Sports parking lot – near registration tent.
• T-Shirt Guarantee Deadline: To guarantee a race t-shirt, you must register before NOON on Monday, November 14, 2026.
• Additional Shirts: Limited number of extra shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those registering after the deadline or on race day—but they are not guaranteed.

Race Swag

• Commemorative T-Shirt: Guaranteed only for those registered before Nov 14.
• Chip-timed Race Bib: Ensuring accurate race timing.
• Eligibility for Awards: Medals in your age group.

Race Day Schedule

• 6:30 AM: Walk-up registration & packet pickup begins.
• 6:45 AM: Sponsor booths open.
• 7:30 AM: Registration closes: warm-up begins.
• 7:40 AM: Opening ceremony.
• 8:00 AM: 5k Start.
• 8:10 AM: 1 Mile Start.
• 9:15 AM: Awards ceremony.
