• Registration: Participants can register at Turkey Strut 5K

Participation Options

• Event Types: In-person and virtual options available
• Completion Window: Virtual participants can complete their 5K or 1 mile from Thanksgiving Day until the following Sunday
• Packet Pick-Up: Shirt and medal can be picked up on Wednesday or shipped during registration
• Open to All: Both events are open to runners and walkers

• Beneficiary: All proceeds benefit the We Care House of Winston-Salem
• Mission: To provide physical and spiritual support to the community
• Food Drive: Participants are encouraged to bring at least 3 canned food items for donation
• Most Needed Items: Breakfast items run out the quickest (grits, pancake mix, syrup, oatmeal)

Course Details

• Course Certification: USATF Certified 5K course with a 1 mile fun run/walk
• Venue: The course runs near BB&T Field/Stadium and Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum
• Parking: Ample parking available at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds
• Run Times: Final run times will count toward state and national records

Family-Friendly Features

• Dogs and Strollers: Welcome to join (dogs must be leashed and well-behaved)
• Prohibited Items: No scooters, bikes, or wheeled recreational vehicles allowed
• Fun Environment: Join the fun instead of waiting at home for the turkey to bake
• Guest Participation: Bring family and out-of-town guests for a fun Thanksgiving morning!

• Awards: Turkeys for Top 3 Overall Male & Female and Top 3 Overall Masters Male & Female
• T-shirts: All 5K participants receive Long Sleeve T-shirts
• One-Mile Fun Run: Participants can purchase a shirt during registration
• Finisher Medals: Given to every participant in both the 5K and one-mile fun run
