🏫 About Cedar Lane School

The Cedar Lane School is a public, special education school located in Howard County, Maryland. Enrollment has steadily increased over the past couple of years and currently, there are over 130 students in attendance, all diagnosed with severe and profound cognitive learning disabilities. Many of the students also have physical disabilities.

💵 Funding and Support

• Increased Need: Due to the various needs of the children at Cedar Lane, the expenses per student are much greater than that of other public schools in the district.
• School Growth: The increased school population has resulted in the school hiring more teachers and expanding the use of the building for additional classrooms.
• Community Involvement: The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Cedar Lane School works with the school and the community throughout the year to help raise the funds needed to support the students and staff.

This year, the Cedar Lane PTA is celebrating its 27th annual “Walk for Our Stars” 5K Fun Run to help raise these much-needed funds. We invite you to join us in celebrating our amazing students at the “Walk for Our Stars” on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Cedar Lane School. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students, staff, families, and sponsors to join together to support our school and have fun while doing so.
