The Big Run 5k

🏃‍♂️ On June 3rd, We Run Together.

Global Running Day is our holiday: a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. We’re inviting all runners and walkers to join us on June 3rd to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line. We encourage you to bring your family, friends, and neighbors.

We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks. What you can expect:

• Mid-week Boost: It's on a Wednesday—who couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?
• Finisher Medals: Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal.
• Beneficiary Program: Proceeds benefit the Knox County Parks and Rec Youth Scholarship Program, providing financial assistance to Knox County youths for participation in youth sports.
• Kona Ice: Kona Ice will be at the evening event! All timed 5k participants will receive a classic cup by presenting their bib. Kona Ice will also be available for purchase for spectators.

• 5K Timed Run: Wed 6/3 at 7:00 pm

🏁 Course Description

The course starts at the Cove and runs out and back on the greenway. We will run past the bridge and the newer section under Northshore Dr to a turnaround point.

📝 Registration

Now through June 2nd:

• Untimed 5k (AM): $25
• Timed 5k (PM): $30

Race Day (June 3rd)

• Untimed 5k (AM): $30
• Timed 5k (PM): $35

• Date: Tues June 2, 10:00am - 7:00pm at Fleet Feet Knoxville, 11619 Parkside Dr, Knoxville, TN 37934 (both Fun Run & Timed)
• 5K Fun Run only: Wed June 3, 6:00am - 6:30am at The Cove, 11808 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN 37922
• 5K Timed Run only: Wed June 3, 6:00pm - 6:45pm at The Cove, 11808 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN 37922

🏆 Awards for 5K Timed Run

• Overall awards: ($40 Gift Card to Fleet Feet Knoxville): 1st Male, 1st Female, 1st Master Male, 1st Master Female, 1st Grand Master Male, & 1st Grand Master Female, 1st Senior Grand Master Male & 1st Senior Grand Master Female.
• Age group awards: ($20/$15/$10 Gift Card to Fleet Feet Knoxville): 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the following male and female age groups: <10, 11-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

🍧 Kona Ice at the Evening 5k!

• Treat on Us: All registered timed 5k participants can receive a classic Kona Ice - on us - after their run! Just present your bib and enjoy your treat. Other sizes or additional will also be available for purchase.
