Race benefits the SCR Christian Lake Memorial Student Scholarship Fund.

• Date: Sunday, February 14, 2027
• Location: Eau Galle Civic Center - 1551 Highland Ave., Melbourne
• 10K Start Time: 7:00 AM
• 2 Mile Start Time: 8:30 AM

Race Features

• Presented by: Power of Pizza Charities
• Course: Challenging certified road races with out & backs over the Eau Gallie Causeway and Indian River.
• Shorter Distance: Not up for the full 6.2 miles? Join us for the Tail of the Lizard 2 Mile.
• Challenge: Slay the Beast Challenge - It's the 12th year of the challenge.

Medals and Awards

• Medals: Sign up & finish both races and you get 3 medals!
• Limit: Space is limited to 475. Top 3 get amazing Dragon swords.
• Registration Deadline: You must start the 2 Mile race no later than 8:35 am.
• Shirt: Free dragon race shirt guaranteed with paid early registration.

Packet Pickup

• Location: Packet pickup at Running Zone—3696 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne
• Friday: February 12 from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Saturday: February 13 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Race Day Schedule

• 6:00 AM: Packet Pick Up & Race Day registration
• 7:00 AM: Eye of the Dragon 10K starts
• 8:30 AM: Tail of the Lizard 2 Mile starts
• Awards: Tentative Awards Ceremony for 10K with 2 Mile and Slay the Beast to follow

• Overall Awards: Top 3 Overall Male & Female in 10K, 2 Mile, & Slay the Beast
• Masters Awards: Top Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), Senior Grand Masters (60+) Male & Female
• Age Group Awards: Top 3 in each Age Group—10K & 2 Mile
• Team Competition: Top Overall 10K Team & 2 Mile Co-ed Team Competition

Adaptive Athletes

Eye of the Dragon welcomes athletes who may have a permanent visual, hearing, physical, or intellectual impairment or disability that affects their ability to participate in long-distance events. All athletes must meet the age, participation, safety, and equipment requirements of the specific race and must be registered for the event they wish to take part in.
