🎉 Race Overview

Get ready for the 13th Annual Renfro Rock 'N Run Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk! The Renfro Rock 'N Run Half Marathon has a tradition of being one of Kentucky’s most unique and fun races.

Renfro Valley, Kentucky, home of the world-famous entertainment center and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, is known for its music, from Bluegrass to classic country to rock. Rockcastle County is home to rock-solid, enthusiastic folks who like to run and dare you to keep up. At the Rock 'N Run, they share the road, and their countryside, with you.

You’ll dash past rustic cabins, trot alongside a beautiful lake, and pass through some of Kentucky’s prettiest farmscapes. And this year, we invite you to don your best 80s music costume - think Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Def Leppard, Reba McEntire. It's all part of the fun!

The Renfro Rock 'N Run is part of the Rockcastle Regional Countywide Stride run/walk series, and national Program of Excellence Award winner.

🛡️ Safety Guidelines

• Restrictions: NO strollers or dogs permitted for this race.
• Ear Buds: If you use ear buds, we strongly suggest you only use one, as this is not a closed course (though we do have safety support from local Law Enforcement, Local Fire Department, and our volunteer Motorcycle Course Support).
• Course Marking: The course will be marked with mile marker signs and orange taped arrows on the road.
• Traffic Awareness: The roads are not closed so be aware you may encounter traffic at any time.

🏃 Half Marathon Run

• Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025. Race time is 8:00 a.m. EST.
• Time Limit: 3.5 hours
• Course Map: View Course Map
• Registration Fees: $65 thru June 30: $75 thru September 30: $85 from October 1 thru race day.

Participant swag: Long sleeve T-shirt and commemorative medal for half marathoners. (Shirt size not guaranteed after Sept. 30).

• Transfers: You may transfer your registration to another runner for a $10 fee if you do so by October 22 at 4 pm.
• Packet Pick-Up: Friday, October 24, 8:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. EST, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital, 185 Newcomb Ave, Mt. Vernon, KY 40456 or until 7:45 a.m. on race day.
• Referral Program: Invite friends to join you: get 5 friends to sign up using your special referral link for a refund of up to $20.00.

Awards:

• Winners: $100 and trophies to overall male and female winner.
• Age Groups: Top three male and female runners in age groups: 15-19: 20-29: 30-39: 40-49: 50-59: 60-69: 70-79, 80+.
• Award Ceremony: The first round of awards will be presented at 10:30 a.m. near the finish area.

👟 5K Run/Walk

• Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025. Race time is 8:05 a.m. EST.
• Registration Fees: $25 thru September 30: $30 from October 1 thru race day.
• Participant Swag: Short-sleeve T-shirt. (Shirt size not guaranteed after Sept. 30).
• Packet Pick-Up: Same as Half Marathon.

Awards:

• Winners: Overall male and female race winner.
• Age Groups: Top three male and female finishers in age groups: 12-under: 13-19: 20-29: 30-39: 40-49: 50-59: 60-69: 70-79, 80+.
• Walkers: Top 3 fastest male and female walkers.
• Award Ceremony: Awards will be presented at 9:15 a.m. near the finish area.

👗 Costume Contest

• Contest Details: Our Music Costume Contest is always a favorite. We’re looking for musical-themed costumes only. This year's theme is the 80’s - think Michael Jackson, Madonna, Metallica, etc.
• Check-In: Contestants must check-in at the registration tent and have their picture taken.
• Voting: Pictures will be posted on our Facebook page: the one with the most “likes” by Oct. 31 at noon will win $100.
• Costume Rules: All costume participants must wear their costume for the duration of the race and race bib must be visible for time tracking.
