This event is about running for a cause and honoring the memory of an actual superhero, Kevin Rudi. Hailing from Rio Rancho, Kevin was not just a name but a beacon of inspiration, a figure cherished by many for his indomitable spirit and unwavering courage.

Kevin's story is one of resilience and strength. A wrestler, a cheerleader, and a passionate stock market follower, Kevin embraced life with an unparalleled zest. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer. He tragically passed away in 2014 at the age of 27. Despite his daunting challenges, Kevin remained undeterred, fighting his battle with grace and determination.

In the eyes of his fraternity brothers from New Mexico State University, Kevin was more than just a friend: he was a superhero. Their unwavering love and admiration for him led them to establish the Rudi Foundation in 2014, ensuring that Kevin's legacy of kindness and compassion would continue to thrive.

As we gather for the 10th Annual RUDI RUN 5K, let us celebrate a decade of running for a cause and pay homage to Kevin Rudi – a true hero in every sense of the word. The RUDI RUN 5K has a rich history of supporting the New Mexico Cancer Center, with all registration fees supporting this vital cause. Join us in honoring his memory and supporting the fight against cancer.

• Date/Time: August 17th, 2024, from 7 am to 12 pm
• Check-In: 7 am - 8 am
• Start Time: 8:30 am

📍 Location

• Location: Mariposa Basin Park, 4900 Kachina St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120
• Details: Registration fees go towards the New Mexico Cancer Center. Every registration includes a commemorative Rudi Run tee shirt.
• Prizes: Winners in each age group/division will receive awards, and additional prizes will be given out during the race, including raffles and random giveaways in water station cups!
• Kids K: Approximately a .64 mile run designed especially for our younger participants to join in the fun.
