Event Details

• Date: October 10, 2026
• Location: Comstock Community Center, 6330 King Hwy, Kalamazoo, MI 49048
• Start Time: 9:00 am
• Packet Pickup: Begins at 7:30 am on race morning

Registration Information

• Free Breakfast: Every registered participant will receive a free pancake and sausage breakfast on site after the race. Additional breakfasts may be purchased for a minimum $5 donation.
• Fees: Early Runner Registration is $40.00 (Pre-registration closes October 12th at 11:59 pm)

Race Format

• Race Type: The race will utilize a waterfall start, similar to last year.
• Timing: Based on chip timing, individual times will start when runners cross the start line.
• Official Timing: The timer will have the official timing based on chips while the clock serves as a guide for spectators.
• Finisher Medals: Custom finisher medals for all participants, with custom colors for top two finishers in each age group.

Awards and Prizes

• Trophies: Overall winners for men and women will receive trophies.
• Custom Medals: Custom finisher medals for all participants.
• Age Categories: 12 and Under, 13-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and Over
• Raffle Drawing: Tickets available for $20 with prizes including $1,000, $500, and additional cash prizes. Drawing date is 10/10/2026: you do not need to be present to win.

About the Event

The 13th Annual Sunrise 5K Run is sponsored by Kalamazoo Sunrise Kiwanis. Your local Kiwanis club has been donating to many causes to help educate and keep your children safe for over thirty years. Past projects include donations to Burn Camp, First Day Show Fund, writing competitions with our three local school districts, and supporting the local Little League just to name a few. Your registration fee will be used to ensure similar programs will continue receiving support from your community. Thank you again for a great THIRTY years! As always, the children appreciate your support!

Event Features

• Location: The Hotcake Hustle will be held at the Comstock Community Center.
• Course: The run/walk course will be an out-and-back course on the KRV Trail.
• Breakfast: A pancake and sausage breakfast is included for all participants.
