5K Home Run supporting Family Promise of Lawrence

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Date: May 25, 2026
• Time: 8:30 a.m.
• Location: South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, KS
• Welcome: All ages and abilities are welcome, including serious runners, walkers, children in strollers and dogs on a leash.

🏅 Awards and Prizes

• Winners: Overall and master's male and female winners will receive medals.
• Youth Medals: 5- to 12 and 13- to 18-year-old winners will also receive medals.
• Prizes: The largest youth team and biggest individual fundraiser will earn prizes.
• T-Shirt: Anyone who registers by May 1 will receive a T-shirt.

🏆 Virtual Participation

• Flexibility: Participants can complete their 5K anytime, anywhere between May 19 – 25 with the virtual option.
• Registration Fee: $30 per person or $25 per person for teams of four or more.

• Impact: Proceeds support families with children who are experiencing a housing crisis.

🤝 Community Involvement

• Statement: “Community is the heart of Family Promise’s work," says Brenda Wahl, executive director of Family Promise of Lawrence.
• Kid's Zone: Activities for children include a bounce house, face painting, and yard games, sponsored by The Good Game.
• Volunteers: Volunteers are needed on race day. To sign up, go to the volunteer tab.
• Sponsors: Kindred CPA and Vintage Church are the title sponsors.

• Day of Registration: $35.
• T-Shirt Availability: T-shirt is not guaranteed if not registered by May 1st.
