Race Overview

Grab your running shoes and your best Gump Getup - the Beaufort Shrimp Festival’s Run Forrest Run 5K returns Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026! 🚶‍♂️🎉 And we can’t think of a better way to enjoy Shrimp Season in the Lowcountry than with Forrest Gump and Bubba.

Course Details

• Race Locations: Race through iconic movie locations to make Lowcountry history.
• Woods Memorial Bridge: Feel the ocean breeze in your poncho as you compete over the bridge.
• Photo Opportunity: Take your photo with our Forrest Gump impersonator at the Start / Finish line.
• Awards: First, Second, and Third Place runners will receive the coveted Run Forrest Run 5K medals.

Costume Contest

Bring your favorite characters from the Forrest Gump movie to life as you race towards shrimp glory. We encourage participants to get groovy with themed costumes and unique outfits. Those donning a Forrest Gump getup can race to the finish line in hopes of claiming the Fastest Forrest Award. Register now and RUN, FORREST, RUN!

Beaufort Triple Crown Race Series

The 2026 Run Forrest Run kicks off the Beaufort Triple Crown Race Series, which includes the Swing Bridge Run (Nov. 1) and Turkey Trot (Nov. 27). Register for the 2026 Beaufort Triple Crown Bundle (on this website) to support three local nonprofits - Beaufort Digital Corridor, Holy Trinity Classical Christian School, and Habitat for Humanity of the Lowcountry.

Participants who complete the race series will be eligible for special awards for the best combined time. ONLY 125 BUNDLES AVAILABLE! Register before the cutoff on Oct. 1!

Registration Fees

• Pre-registration: $40 (Prior to 9/1/26)
• Regular registration: $45 (9/1/26 – 10/1/26 @ 11:59 PM)
• Late registration: $50 (10/2/26 @ 10 AM–5 PM and 10/3/26 @ 6:30–7:45 AM)

Registration will close promptly at 7:45 AM to ensure the race begins on time.

Race Start and Parking

8:00 AM Sharp Race Start

• Parking: Marina parking lot will be blocked off for vendors only. Parking is first come first serve.
• Parking Options: Consider the Library Lot, Port Republic Square Parking Lot, or other paid lots nearby.
• Carpooling: We recommend carpooling when possible.
• Park Beaufort: Check out the Park Beaufort site for directions.

Race Directions

The race start/finish line is at the intersection of Bay Street and Newcastle Street. The closest GPS address is the downtown marina parking lot: 1006 Bay St, Beaufort, SC 29902. Plan your parking in advance as traffic is expected.

T-Shirt Giveaway

The Race Registration page now includes the option to select your size. Your T-shirt will be available for pick-up during Race Packet Pick-up or at the Start/Finish line. Availability of your size cannot be guaranteed for registrations made after the cutoff dates.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female runners, as well as the top 3 finishers in various age groups. The awards ceremony will begin immediately following the race. Virtual 5K participants are not eligible for trophy awards.

Beaufort Triple Crown Race Series runners will receive a medal charm for completing each of the three races - Run Forrest Run, Turkey Trot, and Swing Bridge Run.

The Run Forrest Run 5K is a fundraising event for the Beaufort Digital Corridor. Donations support the Beaufort Digital Corridor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to advancing economic growth and social equity in our community.
