🏞️ Race Overview

• Half Marathon: Acadiana's Oldest half marathon is the most beautiful running course in Lafayette.
• Race Options: Runners have the options between either road races or trail races. Road race distances include: 1/2 marathon, 10k, or 5k: while trail running options include 5k or 10k.
• Support TRAIL: Run and support TRAIL's investments and efforts in Acadiana Park & Nature Station.
• Trophies: Do really well and win an alligator head.

📅 Event Details

• Date: The Cajun Country Run (CCR) will take place on December 20, 2025.
• History: The CCR started in 2002 and became a primary supporter of TRAIL in 2010.
• Running Options: Today the event offers 5 running options including a half marathon, 10K, and 5K for road races, and 10K & 5K for trail races.
• Course Description: The 10K course features technical sections along the banks of the Vermilion River.

🏆 Awards & Trophies

• Trophy: The hallmark of the CCR is the home made alligator head trophies, compliments of Cajun Ben.
• Course Evolution: The original half marathon course was a double loop that included 4 miles of cross country running.
• Course Certification: In 2014 we changed the half marathon course to an all road single loop course and got it certified by the USATF.

💖 Community Impact

• Proceeds: Proceeds from the CCR have allowed T.R.A.I.L. to do work in and around Acadiana Park.
• Property Acquisition: In 2012, T.R.A.I.L. purchased property to add to Acadiana Park & Nature Station.
• Trail Improvements: TRAIL has also helped fund improvements to the mountain bike trail system built and maintained by Mountain Bike Lafayette.
