• Course Options: Acadiana's oldest half marathon featuring the most beautiful running course in Lafayette.
• Race Types: Runners can choose between road races (1/2 marathon, 10k, 5k) or trail races (5k, 10k).
• Support TRAIL: Run and support TRAIL's investments and efforts in Acadiana Park & Nature Station.
• Unique Trophy: Do really well and win an alligator head trophy.

🏅 Race History & Details

• Established: The Cajun Country Run (CCR) started in 2002 and has been a primary supporter of TRAIL since 2010.
• Running Options: The event now offers 5 running options: half marathon, 10K, and 5K road races: 10K and 5K trail races.
• Course Features: Courses include cross country and single track sections: the 10K course features technical sections along the Vermilion River.
• Trophy Tradition: The hallmark of the CCR is the homemade alligator head trophies, compliments of Cajun Ben.

💰 Support & Proceeds

• Community Work: Proceeds from the CCR support T.R.A.I.L.'s work in and around Acadiana Park.
• Property Purchase: In 2012, T.R.A.I.L. purchased property to expand Acadiana Park & Nature Station.
• Trail Improvements: T.R.A.I.L. has also helped fund improvements to the mountain bike trail system maintained by Mountain Bike Lafayette.
