Go Cross Beer Mile Relay

🍻 Race Overview

You bring your buds, we'll bring the suds! The Go Cross Beer Mile returns to Virginia's Blue Ridge Go Cross presented by Fat Tire at Fallon Park on Saturday September 13, 2025 at 5:00pm (race starts at 5:30pm).

Happening just after the elite cyclocross podiums, this beer mile is a team relay race with 4 parts beer, 4 parts running, and NEW in 2025 4 parts pixie cross (aka adults riding kids' bikes). It is designed to raise the vibe and get everyone out in costume to cheer (& heckle) for the pros. Prizes will be provided by RunAbout Sports to the top team and for the team with the best costumes. This year's the costume theme is "GO VIRAL!"

🎟️ Registration Details

• Cost: The cost of the race is only $36 PER TEAM if you register by 9/6/25 at midnight and $40 PER TEAM after.
• Onsite Registration: Onsite registration will be available at the ID Check and Beer Tent until 4:30pm on race day.
• Team Size: A minimum of two racers are required per team, and a maximum of four.
• Race Briefing: The race briefing will take place at 5:30pm at the RunAbout tent and it is mandatory for all runners.

🏃 Race Format

This race will be held in the in-field of the course. The race will consist of 4 laps of ~1/4 mile each consisting of part running and part pixie biking. The beers will be 16 oz. pints of Fat Tire (NA beers and Root Beer available on prior request - email kait@roanokeoutside.com by 5pm on 9/12).

⚠️ Beer Relay Guidelines

• Age Requirement: ALL participants must be 21 or older.
• Proof of Age: Participants must have proof of age and obtain an ID band from the ID tent prior to the event.
• Team Composition: Two to four members per relay team (Minimum of two per team).
• Consumption Rule: Beer must be consumed before starting each lap.
• Tagging: On laps 2,3, and 4 participants must be tagged by preceding teammate before beginning their lap.
• Contact Policy: Unnecessary contact with other participants could result in disqualification (beer mile is not a contact sport).
• High Fives: Mandatory high fives to each other after completing the race.
• Have Fun: Most importantly: have fun, laugh, and smile for the cameras :).

👥 Setting Up Team

• Only one person from each team needs to initially set up their team with a password and pay the one time fee. Once the team is created other team members can select that team via the drop down menu and follow through to confirm registration. Only the person setting up the team will pay the fee.
• Enter Information: Enter personal information (if you set up more than one member at time of team set up it will look like you will be charged for each participant. IGNORE. It will drop off when you go to pay. This will also show a charge if you are joining a team. Ignore. It will drop off at time on the last page when you confirm registration).
• Create Team: Create team with password (or join team if already created).
• Sign Waiver: Sign waiver.
• Payment: Enter payment info (only if you are setting up the team).
• Confirm Registration: Confirm Registration.

EACH TEAM HAS TO HAVE AT LEAST TWO MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE ON RACE DAY. Captains of each team will be able to add and remove members until registration ends.
