About this race
POUND the PAVEMENT for PILOT 5K & FUN RUN
The Pilot Club of Denham Springs invites you to be a part of Pound the Pavement for Pilot 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run. Our mission is to transform communities by developing youth, providing service, education and uplifting families. Pilots focus on providing projects and services which help those with special needs and brain related disorders.
Our event kicks off at 8am, rain or shine, with the 1 Mile Fun Run followed by the 5K. When you register for the 5K, you are registered for the 1 Mile Fun Run but only the kiddos can win the 1 mile!
Projects
Proceeds from our events are used to fund projects such as:
- “Challengers” ballfield: for children with special needs
- Mighty Moms: supporting mothers in need
- Assess the Need: addressing community needs
- Fans for the elderly: through Livingston Parish Council on Aging
- Denham Springs High Project Graduation: helping graduates celebrate safely
- Louisiana Association for Challenged Adults, Inc: supporting adults with challenges
- Honoring veterans: at nursing homes on Veteran’s Day
- Sponsoring DSHS Anchor Club: empowering student leaders
- Brain-Minders puppet show: for youths encouraging education
- Yearly Pilot Club scholarship: for a DSHS graduate
- PAES Labs: for special needs students at three area schools
As you can see, the Pilots are always looking for ways to help others and our community. Your support goes to help continue these most worthy projects.
Shirt Guarantee
The deadline to register is Sunday, November 8, 2025 by midnight to receive an event shirt. Any registration after this time, an event shirt is not guaranteed.
Packet Pickup
Pickup will be available:
- Friday, November 13: from 3 - 5:30 pm at Covington & Associates, 1110 S. Range Ave.
- At the race: from 7 - 8 am
Awards
Awards will be given 3 deep in all age groups:
- Overall Male and Female: top finishers
- Masters (40 - 49): top male & female
- Grand Masters (50 & over): top male & female
Fun Run Awards will be given to:
- Top 3 runners: ages 12 & under
5K age groups:
- 10 & Under: ages
- 11-12: ages
- 13-14: ages
- 15-19: ages
- 20-29: ages
- 30-39: ages
- 40-49: ages
- 50-59: ages
- 60 & up: ages
