Whiskey and Wine 5K

🥃 Race Description

• Event Theme: If you like whiskey, wine, and running 5k races, then this event is a perfect match for you.
• Unique Experience: Welcome to the 2nd annual Whiskey and Wine 5K where participants can enjoy an optional whiskey and wine tasting while running.
• Tastings: Participants will be able to try a different whiskey and/or wine every half mile along the 5K course, totaling 6 tastings.
• Gift: After completing the 5K course and tastings, you will choose which bottle of whiskey or wine you want to take home as our gift.

🏞️ Race Course

• Course Type: The course is a one loop, 5K course clearly marked with signs and flagging tape.
• Scenic Route: It will pass by Lake Tranquility at Oak Mountain State Park.
• Elevation: There will be some elevation, so be prepared!

📜 Event Rules

• Wristband Requirement: All participants will receive a custom wristband at packet pick-up, which must be worn while running.
• Tasting Policy: If you are not wearing your wristband at a tasting, you cannot taste whiskey or wine with no exceptions.
• Age Restriction: All participants must be 21 or older.
• No Sales: There will be NO alcohol sales at this event.

📍 Race Location and Packet Pickup

• Location: The Whiskey and Wine 5K will be held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama.
• Packet Pickup: Race day packet pickup will be at the Redbud Pavilion from 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM.
• Identification: Participants must bring a photo ID for identification and age verification.
• Start Time: A pre-run briefing will take place at 3:45 PM, and the event begins at 4:00 PM sharp.

🏅 Awards, Swag

• No Races: There will not be any awards for finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
• Finisher Gift: If you liked the wine you tasted at the fourth tasting, you get to take a bottle home as our gift.
• Limited Bottles: We will have the same number of bottles as runners: run fast to ensure you get your choice.
• Choice Priority: Runners who finish earlier get first pick of their desired whiskey or wine.

💧 Aid Stations

• Location: One aid station will be set up at the halfway point of the course.
• Water Availability: Water will be provided at both the halfway and end aid stations.

💵 Refunds

• No Refund Policy: No refunds will be given to any participant for this event.
• Entry Transfer: You can transfer your entry to another runner by emailing us.
