Event Overview: If you like whiskey, wine, and running 5k races, then this event is a perfect match for you. Welcome to the 2nd annual Whiskey and Wine 5K.
Tastings: Participants can try a different whiskey and/or wine every half mile along the 5K course, totaling 6 different tastings.
Gift: After the race, each participant will choose a bottle of whiskey or wine to take home as our gift.
Unique Options: We will provide three different wines and three different whiskies, keeping the exact flavors a secret until the event day.
Race Course
Course Design: The course is a one loop, 5K course that will be clearly marked with signs and flagging tape.
Scenic Route: It will pass by Lake Tranquility at Oak Mountain State Park.
Elevation: There will be some elevation, so be prepared!
Event Rules
Wristband Policy: All participants will receive a custom wristband at packet pick-up and must wear it while running the 5K course.
Tasting Access: If you are not wearing your wristband when arriving at a tasting, you will not be able to taste any whiskey or wine.
Age Requirement: All participants must be 21 or older and there will be NO alcohol sales at this event.
Race Location and Packet Pickup
Location: The Whiskey and Wine 5K will be held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama.
Packet Pickup: No early packet pickup: race day packet pickup will be at the Redbud Pavilion from 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM.
ID Required: Participants must bring their photo ID for positive identification and age verification.
Race Day: A pre-run briefing will take place at 3:45 PM, with the event starting at 4:00 PM sharp.
Awards, Swag
No Traditional Awards: There will not be any awards for finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in this event.
Finisher's Gift: Participants get to take home the wine or whiskey they enjoyed at the fourth tasting (mile 2) as a commemorative gift.
Bottles Availability: There will be the same number of bottles as runners, so run fast to secure your choice!
Aid Stations
Location: One aid station will be set up at the halfway point, another at the end of the course.
Water Provided: Water will be available for participants at both aid stations.
Refunds
No Refund Policy: No refunds will be given: you may transfer your entry to another runner by emailing us.
