49th Lake to Lake 10k
Join the LRC for the 49th annual Lake to Lake 10k! This race is the oldest annual race in Polk County and runs on residential streets and paved running paths through the Lakeland chain of lakes and the historic Lake Morton district, encompassing three lakes during the course.
- Inclusivity: Walkers are welcome at this event, there is a minimum pace requirement of 16:00 min/mile.
- Certification: The Lake to Lake 10k is held on a USATF-certified course (FL25020JK).
- Timing: The race is chip-timed.
- Support: Thank you to the Denis L Fontaine Foundation for their support since 1994: a donation from the 10k will benefit the YMCA of Central Florida.
Registration Details
- Deadline: Online registration is available through Tuesday, October 28 or until the race sells out.
- Onsite Registration: The online system will close and will reopen for onsite registration (cash or card) during packet pickup on Friday, October 31, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
- Packet Pickup: Continuing on Saturday, November 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 AM.

Packet Pickup
- Early Pickup: Will be held Friday at the Cleveland Heights golf course clubhouse and on Saturday at the Tribute to the Volunteer Statue on the Frances Langford Promenade at Lake Mirror.
- Friday Timing: October 31, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM (closing 1 hour sooner due to Halloween).
- Saturday Timing: November 1, from 6:00 AM to 7:15 AM.
- Location: Cleveland Heights Golf Club - 2900 Buckingham Ave, Lakeland, FL 33803 and Tribute to the Volunteer Statue on the Frances Langford Promenade at Lake Mirror - 121 S Lake Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801.
Race Start
- Time: The race starts at 7:30 AM.
- Location: Rose St near the intersection with N Ingraham Ave.
- Corral System: Runners will be seeded into corrals based on their estimated finish time. There are 10 corrals for the Lake to Lake 10k.
- Parking: Street parking is available throughout downtown Lakeland and in the three city parking garages.
Course Map
The course starts on Rose Ave, and turns south onto Lake Ave, then West onto Orange, before heading downhill south on Iowa Ave to Lake Morton. The course then proceeds to an up and over Success Ave to Lake Hollingsworth before returning to Lake Morton via Success Ave. Runners climb Iowa Ave before descending to the finish on the Lake Mirror Promenade.

- Awards: Overall male and female based on gun time: all other awards based on chip time.
- Categorizations: LRC will recognize master's and grandmaster's male and female winners.
- Presentation: Awards will be presented after the final finisher, ~ 9:00 AM on the Frances Langford Promenade at Lake Mirror.
Safety & Weather Guidelines
- Prohibitions: NO dogs, bicycles, roller skates, or in-line skates allowed on the course.
- Weather Monitoring: Conditions will be monitored prior to the event, with participant alerts if necessary.
- Heat Advisory: Stay hydrated and choose appropriate clothing.
- Communication: Participants will be informed of weather conditions and potential dangers via website and text messaging.
Refund Policy
- Nonrefundable: This race is nonrefundable.
- Registration Transfer: If you can’t attend, please initiate a registration transfer instead of just giving your bib to someone else.
- Deadline: Registration transfers can be completed until one week before the race.
- Responsibility: The LRC is not responsible for identifying individuals for the exchange.
Race History
The Lake to Lake 10k was founded in 1977 by Harold Walker who owned the Athletic Attic and John Scimone, founder of the Lakeland Runners Club. The race record belongs to Tom Nohilly of Gainesville, who finished the 1991 Lake to Lake 10K in 29:53. Shelly Steely, also of Gainesville, holds the female record, 33:48, set in 1988.
