Charles Towne Landing - Visitor's Center, Charleston SC
Sunday, May 17th, 2026
Michael W Leibowitz was always on the move. A fixture in the Charleston running community, he once participated in more than 70 races in a single year! Michael traveled across the globe for a good cause, bringing family and friends with him whenever they obliged. His motto, which he routinely shared accompanied by a photo on every trek, was “If I can do it, so can you.”
Michael was tragically killed at age 71, along with his friend Christina Chung, in an accident in July 2024. His grandchildren, children, family, and friends wish to honor his memory with this annual event.
An engineer, pilot, avid runner, and travel enthusiast, you can learn more about Michael here.
This event is open to people of all levels of athletic ability and will not be timed (Feel free to time yourself with your watch of course).
We hope you’ll come out and honor Michael's legacy with us!
