Rain Policy: We are aware that there is call for rain. This event is a rain or shine event, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the American Boy Project. Should you opt to not run, please know that your registration goes towards a worthy cause.
Packet Pickup: Should you not wish to run, but still want to come by the Virginia Run Community Association to pick up your shirt, please see the packet pickups times below.
Awards Ceremony: If the weather remains poor, we will not have an awards ceremony on site, but instead will have the ability to see your placement, in your age group, and pick up your award at the Community Association building, at the conclusion of the race.

It's time for Virginia Run's favorite time of the year! We are happy to return for the 34th Annual Virginia Run Turkey Trot 5k run and 3k walk. This Thanksgiving day tradition is a great way to kick off the day with families and friends.

Location: Virginia Run Community Association, 15355 Wetherburn Court, Centreville, VA 20120
November 26, 2025: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
November 27, 2025: 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM

🕗 Start Times

5k Start: 8:00 AM
3k Start: 8:05 AM

👕 T-Shirts

T-shirts will be provided to all 5k participants (and those that purchased) who signed up by November 1st.

We will continue to take registrations until 7:30 AM Thursday, so if you know people who still need to sign up, they can register up until that time. However, it will save everyone time if they sign up prior to coming to packet pickup.

Please try to pick up your bibs on Wednesday if you can because race mornings are always hectic and it will help us start on time on Thursday.

Founded in 1989, the Virginia Run Turkey Trot welcomes participants into the holiday season by promoting a spirit of community. This year, we invite runners and families back to this beloved tradition, where we will gather for a special day of turkey hats, dogs with feathered coats, and the excitement of the race. But make no mistake: We intend to combine our fun with addressing the needs of less fortunate families near and far. The Trot has raised roughly 1 million dollars for charity since its inception. Held on Thanksgiving, it is not just a race, but a reminder of what really matters. We hope you can join us.

THE AMERICAN BOY PROJECT is a 501c3 dedicated to helping anyone struggling with addiction. Suffering from addiction takes many forms, including mental health challenges, financial ruin, ridicule from society, and even the very real risk of death. In difficult times like these, we need to confront such problems in a compassionate and non-judgemental way. We issue treatment scholarships to candidates with no means, allowing for them to receive or extend the quality help they so desperately need. This drastically reduces the chance that relapse and overdose will occur. Through charity events, heartfelt correspondence, and most importantly restorative action, we aid families in navigating this unimaginable journey with the support from an organization that knows their pain all too well.
