Event Overview

Join us for the 2nd Annual Nehemiah Schoenecke 5K Run/Walk, a special event to honor our 2 year old son Nehemiah who went to Heaven on September 20, 2024.

Beneficiary Information

• Organization: While We’re Waiting, an organization that offers free weekend retreats and local grief support groups for parents who have experienced the loss of a child.
• Local Support Group: Launched in October 2025 in the Bloomington-Normal area, connecting with families with similar stories.
• Funding Purpose: Proceeds will fund our annual budget for the support group, covering dinner and childcare for families attending.
• Goal: We aim to reach $10,000 this year to support grieving families and fund free weekend retreats.

Community Impact

• Past Success: Last year, we contributed over $5000 to While We’re Waiting.
• Personal Experience: We attended a WWW weekend retreat in 2025 and found them encouraging and healing.
• Encouragement: Your support helps honor Nehemiah and aids grieving families in need.

• Check-in & Bib Pick-up: 8:00 - 8:45 AM at Park Gazebo at Heyworth Splash Pad Park
• 5K Walk/Run Start: 9:00 AM on Cole Street, just south of Splash Pad Park
