Activity: Come run or walk for shoes! 5K run/ 2 mile walk/ .5 mile kid's run
Purpose: Funds raised during this year's annual Safe Home Walk/Run for Global Hands of Hope will go toward shoe making equipment and training.
Goal: Enable GHOH to construct black leather school shoes for every student at Suubi.
Support: Funds will provide for expenses associated with Safe Homes for young girls and boys at risk for abuse or already experiencing abuse in Bukeka, Uganda.
🌍 About Global Hands of Hope
Partnership: Global Hands of Hope Uganda, in partnership with Lifesong for Orphans, has built 3 Safe Homes for over 300 girls and boys attending the Suubi ("Hope") School.
Employment: This annual Walk/Run provides income for four full-time "House Moms" (social workers) caring for these precious girls and boys.
Virtual Attendance: Ronald Nalera, president of Global Hands of Hope, plans to virtually attend the event and give an update on the progress of GHOH in Uganda!
Kids' Participation: The kids at the Suubi school will be doing their own 5K again before our event, with footage of the Ugandan race shown after our event!
📅 Event Details
Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025
Location: Dust to Glory Fitness, 716 E. Empire Street Unit G, Bloomington, IL - located where the Constitution Trail meets Empire Street.
Course: The race will be entirely on the Constitution Trail.
Registration: Registration fee for adults 18 and up is $40 (includes T-shirt): kids 17 and under pay just $5 (plus $10 for optional T-shirt).

Walk Up Registration: $5 extra - $45 for adults, $10 for kids.
Packet Pick-Up: Race bib and packet pick-up starts at 8:30 am on race day.
Race Schedule: Kid's Run is at 9:00 am: 5K and 2 mile walk start at 9:30 am.
