Union Mills Wilderness 5K & 10K (Formerly Box Creek Event)

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Union Mills Learning Center is presenting the 5th annual Union Mills Wilderness 5K & 10K on Saturday, February 28, 2026 (Formerly Box Creek Event -- just a name change). The 10K boasts spectacular scenery, taking runners alongside the Second Broad River, the CSX Railroad, and around the base of Rocky Face Mountain and the area now known as Box Creek Wilderness. 5K participants can walk or run the route that will begin at Union Mills Learning Center. Both races are scheduled to start at 10am.

🎽 Registration Information

• T-shirt Deadline: No T-shirt guaranteed to be received before the race if not registered by the 16th.
• ROC Series: Both the 5k and 10k will be in the ROC series points race for 2026. 1 additional point earned for the 10k (make note)!
• Race Day Sign Ups: We will have race day sign ups on race morning!
• Goodie Bags: Pre Made race goodie bags will be distributed race morning at packet pick up.

🍏 Refreshments and Awards

• Refreshments: Prepackaged and self-served refreshments will be available at both the finish-line area in the auditorium and on the course.
• Award Ceremony: An awards ceremony will be held in the facility auditorium. A Facebook Live video will take place. Awards will be mailed if anyone leaves before the ceremony.
• Results: Find your results under RacingToes.com
• Awards: Awards for Top 2 Male & Female Overall and Top 3 places (Male & Female) in each Age Group (1-12: 13-19: 20-29: 30-39: 40-49: 50-59: 60-69: 70 & over).

💰 Event Purpose

All proceeds from this event will go towards building upgrades and the educational programs offered at the Union Mills Learning Center.
