Welcome to the 36th Consecutive Year of the Great Pumpkin Classic!!!

Event Background

• Celebration: Please help us celebrate our amazing event.
• Started in: 1991 by our Race Director Marty Schaivone.
• History: 349 people started a journey that has raised money for the Trumbull High Scholarship Foundation for 35 years.
• Legacy: Despite changes over the years, the reputation built over 3+ decades is solidly in place.

• Description: Join us again for the Great Pumpkin Classic, a fun-filled event with a 5K run, walk, kids runs, and post-race celebration.

Food and Drinks

• Treats: Plasko’s Farm Cider Donuts will be available.
• Village Bagels: Enjoy pumpkin mini bagels and other snacks.
• Shirts: We ordered 450 shirts & sold out last year — don't wait!
• Sizing: Guaranteed sizing ends 10/4: after that, shirts are 'as available.'

Event Fees

• 5K Registration: $28 for 19 & over: $20 for 18 & under (2/14 - 4/30).
• Increased Pricing: Prices increase leading up to the event, starting from $28.
• Walk Registration: 1.7-mile walk for $28 for 19 & over: $20 for 18 & under (2/14 - 4/30).
• Kids Fun Runs: Pricing varies: kids receive a shirt, finishing medal & snack.

Schedule

• Date: 10/18 - Event Day (All registration online only).
• Early Pickup: 10/17 from 8:30-10:30 am at Trumbull High School.
• 5K Start: 9:00 am for the Great Pumpkin Classic 5K & non-timed walk.
• Awards: 10:00 am for 5K and prizes from sponsors.

Course Information

• 5K Course: Includes some hills and flat spots, mostly following the original 1991 route.
• 1.7 Mile Walk: Non-timed, flat course.
• Kids Runs: Held on a flat track, various distances based on age groups.
• Safety: Participants are encouraged to pre-hydrate and carry their own fluids.

• Inaugural Event: Launched in 1991 with 349 finishers.
• Top Participation: Grew to over 800 registrations in the late 90s.
• Community Impact: Donated over $340,000 in scholarships since inception.
