The Salt & Sound 10k, 5k and Fun-Run

Event Overview

Join us for the Salt and Sound 10k, 5k and Fun-Run, at the Currituck County Rural Center on Saturday, September 19th. Experience the area's waterfowl, wetland and the neighboring horses.

Course Details

• Scenic Route: This unique race will bring you along water thoroughfares, on boardwalks and straightaways to the edge of the Currituck Sound.
• Multiple Surfaces: The courses are scenic but not the fastest because you will be on multiple surfaces.
• Well Marked: The courses will be well marked with chip timing, water stations and restrooms.
• Stroller & Dog Guidelines: We recommend that strollers and dogs (leash required) start at the back.

Post-Race Celebration

Stay after the race for pancake breakfast. There will be booths from various groups / organizations and an awards presentation.

Award Categories/Divisions

• Cattail 10k: Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Male and Female.
• Age Division: Trophies to first 2 male and first 2 female finishers in each age category - 29 & under, 30-45, 46-59, 60 & up.
• Boardwalk Breeze 5k: Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Male and Female.
• Frog-Hop 1 mile Taxi-Trot: Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female.

Additional Information

• Wheelchair Division: Top Male and Top Female.
• Finisher Medals: All finishers in each race will receive a race medal.
• Registration Perks: First 150 registrants will receive a race t-shirt.
• Community Support: This race proudly supports the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, Currituck 4H, Back Packs for Kids and Kid's First.
