Lace up and make your miles matter at the ABQ Museum Dash—a fun run supporting the Albuquerque Museum Foundation! Join us on Sunday, August 16th, for a 5K, 1K, or Kids K race through the heart of Albuquerque in support of a cause that keeps art, history, and culture alive in our community.

Every step you take fuels the Foundation's mission to champion and sustain the Albuquerque Museum. This race supports the Albuquerque Museum’s dynamic exhibitions, inspiring educational programs, and meaningful community engagement that connects people of all ages.

• Start and Finish: Staged directly in front of the Museum
• Nearby: Within walking distance of Explora Science Center, Children's Museum, and Old Town

EVENT DAY SCHEDULE

• Date: Sunday, August 16, 2026
• 5K: 8:30 A.M. (Timed Event)
• 1-Mile Walk: 8:40 A.M. (Non-Timed)
• Kids K: 9:15 A.M. (Non-Timed, Ages 11 & Under)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Time Limit: All participants must complete the 5K within 1 hour and 20 minutes
• Packet Pickup: Saturday, August 15, 2026 (11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.)
• Location: Heart and Sole Sports, 2817 San Mateo Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110
• Packet Includes: Race Bib with Timing Chip (5K), Event Shirt, Safety Pins, Sponsor Information

PARKING & ARRIVAL

• Parking: Available at Albuquerque Museum Parking Lot
• Restrictions: Do not park on race course or designated streets
• Arrival Time: Plan to arrive at least 45–60 minutes early
• Facilities: Restrooms and warm-up areas available

START PROCEDURES

• Location: Starts in front of the Albuquerque Museum
• Timing: Gun Start with Chip Finish Timing
• Seeding Guidelines: Front for competitive runners, Middle for recreational runners, Back for walkers & strollers
• Official Time: Begins with the sound of the horn

BIB & TIMING REQUIREMENTS

• Timing Chip: Attached to the back of your bib
• Wear Requirement: Bib must be worn on the FRONT and visible at all times
• Disqualification: Do not fold, alter, or transfer your bib
• Results: Posted at www.irunfit.org

EVENT DAY CONDUCT POLICY

• Behavior: All participants must demonstrate respectful and sportsmanlike behavior
• Prohibited Actions: Public urination, alcohol use, obstructing the course, unsportsmanlike conduct, course cutting
• Disqualification: Race officials reserve the right to disqualify participants for violations
• Participation: Must have an official bib to participate

STROLLERS & WHEELED DEVICES

• Permitted: Strollers allowed with conditions
• Child Registration: Child must be registered (Rider Bib – no charge)
• Conditions: Child must remain secured and not impede runners
• Prohibitions: No skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles, or motorized devices

MEDICAL SUPPORT

• Staff: Positioned at start/finish and along the course
• Emergency: Notify a race official immediately if unwell
• Hydration: Hydrate before, during, and after the race
• Withdrawal: Notify a race official with your bib number if you do not finish

• Fluid Stations: Available on course
• Supplies: Water and Powerade provided
