DESCRIPTION

• Event: Join the Seashore Striders for one of the oldest 5k races in "the national Summer Capital" Rehoboth Beach. The 36th Cape Gazette Independence Day 36th Firecracker 5k Run & 5k Walk. The 7th event in the popular Seashore Strider Championship Series, the Firecracker 5k is a great event raising money every year for local charities or individuals/families in need. Come join the Seashore Striders and the Cape Gazette on the starting line. We look forward to being your host!

• Location: 1 Grove Park; Rehoboth Beach, DE. 19971

RACE TIME

• Time: 7:30 am

RACE REGISTRATION

• Early Bird Registration: $30.00 through June 21st at midnight
• Pre Registration: $35.00 June 22nd through July 3rd at midnight
• Last Chance Race-Day Registration: $40.00 (open from 6:00 am to 7:15 am)
• Note: Registration will be done online through runsignup. All participants registered by Monday, June 29th will be guaranteed a t-shirt.

• Online Registration: through RUNSIGNUP here at this site. "The easiest & most popular way to register for Seashore Strider events."
• Mail-In Registration: form can be downloaded from seashorestriders.com on the Firecracker 5k race page.
• Check Deadline: Entry must arrive by Monday of Race Week to be guaranteed an event swag.
• Checks: Make payable to “Seashore Striders” if using the Universal Entry Form.

RACE COURSE

• Course: The 36th Firecracker 5k is a flat & fast course through the north pines of Rehoboth Beach, just north of the Avenue.

RACE TIMING

• Timing: Timing will be done by the Seashore Strider Event Production team and will be using the Chronotrack B Chip system.

RACE AMENITIES

• Finish Line: Produced by “Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc.”
• Awards Ceremony: Post-Race awards ceremony within 20 minutes following the final finisher.
• Swag: Custom printed towels not t's, custom awards.

AWARDS

• Categories: Awards will be presented to the Overall Male & Female Champions, Overall Male & Female Masters (40+ yrs.), as well as the top three (3) Male & Female finishers in the following 16 age categories.
• Timeframe: Awards will be presented within 20 minutes following the final runner crossing the finish.
• Walk Awards: Medals to the Top 5 Male & Female.
• Missed Ceremony: Awards can be picked up locally or mailed for a cost of $10.

36TH CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES INFO

• Entry Fee: There is no extra fee to enter the Championship Series - just the regular entry fee per race...automatically entered.
• Qualification: To QUALIFY for the Championship Series one must complete specific races and good deeds.
• Final Standings: Determined by fastest 5 mile race and 5 fastest 5ks.

WALKER NOTE

• Division: The Seashore Striders are introducing a separate 5K WALK DIVISION in all eight series events for this summer.
• Standards: Participants must walk correctly by USATF Standards to qualify.
• Race Walking: Maintains contact with the ground at all times with proper technique.

REFUNDS/DEFERRAL

• Policy: The Seashore Striders have a "No Refund" policy, but options include transfer or donation of entry fees.
