Event Purpose

• Join us: for the 7th Annual Jace’s Journey 5K & Fun Run, a powerful community event dedicated to breaking the silence around stillbirth, pregnancy loss, and maternal health disparities.
• Community Gathering: This annual event brings together families, advocates, healthcare professionals, runners, walkers, and supporters to honor babies gone too soon while raising awareness and support for stillbirth prevention and bereavement care.
• Mission: Founded in memory of Jace Alexander, Jace’s Journey works to eliminate disparities in maternal and infant health through education, advocacy, direct family support, and community engagement.
• Movement: The 5K & Fun Run is more than a race — it is a movement to ensure more mothers and babies survive and thrive.

Stillbirth Statistics

• Public Health Issue: Stillbirth remains a critical public health issue in both North Carolina and across the United States.
• CDC Data: According to the CDC, approximately 1 in 175 pregnancies in the U.S. ends in stillbirth, impacting nearly 21,000 families each year.
• Disparities: Black families continue to experience disproportionately higher rates of stillbirth and maternal health complications.
• State of NC: North Carolina continues to face significant maternal and infant health disparities, particularly among Black women and families.

Impact and Participation

• Ways to Participate: Participants can run, walk, volunteer, sponsor, or simply stand in solidarity with families impacted by pregnancy and infant loss.
• Funds Raised: Funds raised support programs including bereavement support initiatives, community education, advocacy efforts, stillbirth prevention awareness, and Jace’s Embrace Boxes for grieving families.
• Support: Whether you participate in memory of a child, to support someone you love, or to advocate for change, your presence helps us continue the mission of Listening. Learning. Advocating.
• Together: We can build awareness, strengthen support, and help save lives.
