About the Tour

• Exploration: Steps away from the restaurants and shops of downtown lies the hidden history of Steamboat Springs.
• Naturalist Guide: Join a Yampatika Naturalist as we explore Steamboat’s Mineral Springs, each with its own history, medicinal uses, and geologic past.
• Age Recommendation: All ages are welcome on this tour; however, it is taught at an adult/young adult level of comprehension.
• Admission Coupon: This program is offered in partnership with the Tread of Pioneers Museum, and all participants will receive a half-off admission coupon to the museum.

Where to Meet

• Meeting Location: We will meet in the Steamboat Art Depot Parking Lot (1001 13th Street).
• Time: Please arrive at 8:50 am.

What to Expect

• Walk Segments: This walk is broken into two segments.
• First Segment: The first hour covers ~1 mile and is mostly flat along city sidewalks.
• Second Segment: The second optional trek to Lithia Springs covers another mile and has some elevation gain through residential streets.

What to Wear/Bring

• Attire: This is a casual walk. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for 1-2 hours outside.
• Weather Preparedness: Be ready for what the weather brings for the day - sun protection such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen is recommended.
• UV Awareness: UV rays are much more powerful at our elevation, so even two hours is enough to cause sunburns and sight damage.
• Essentials: Ensure you have a water bottle and any medications you may need, including epi-pens, with you.
