About the Tour

• Location: Steps away from the restaurants and shops of downtown lies the hidden history of Steamboat Springs.
• Host: Join our special monthly host, Colorado Mountain College’s Geology Professor.
• Content: Explore Steamboat’s Mineral Springs, each with its own history, medicinal uses, and geologic past.
• Audience: All ages are welcome, but it's taught at an adult/young adult level of comprehension.

Where to Meet

• Meeting Point: Steamboat Art Depot Parking Lot (1001 13th Street).
• Time: We will meet at 8:50 am.

What to Expect

• Walk Segments: This walk is broken into two segments.
• First Segment: The first hour covers ~1 mile long and is mostly flat along city sidewalks.
• Second Segment: The second optional trek to Lithia Springs covers another mile and has some elevation gain.
• Setting: The trek includes residential streets.

What to Wear/Bring

• Attire: This is a casual walk; wear comfortable clothes and shoes for 1-2 hours outside.
• Weather Preparedness: Be ready for what the weather brings for the day.
• Sun Protection: Sunscreens, hats, and sunglasses are recommended due to strong UV rays at elevation.
• Essentials: Ensure you have a water bottle and any necessary medications, including epi-pens.
