TRI for KIDS Triathlon #1

The TRI for KIDS Triathlon Series has three races in 2026 on June 6th, July 11th, and August 8th with a 50 meter or 150 meter swim, a four mile bike, and a one mile run course at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, CA for boys and girls 5 to 14 years of age.

Event Details

Location: Rancho Seco Park, Herald, CA

The TRI for KIDS Triathlon will be held at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. The course will have a 50 meter or 150 meter swim, a four mile bike, and a one mile run. Boys and girls aged 11 and over will swim the longer distance, with kids aged 10 and under doing the shorter distance.

Included with Registration

• TRI for KIDS Race T-shirt: Each entry includes a commemorative T-shirt.
• Age Specific Distances: 5 to 10 yrs old: Swim 50 meters, Bike 4 miles, Run 1 mile.
• 11 to 14 yrs old Distances: Swim 150 meters, Bike 4 miles, Run 1 mile.
• Safety Measures: The swim course will be monitored by safety kayakers and lifeguards.

Course Information

Bike Course: A closed four-mile course monitored for safety, with no aid stations available on the course. Water and electrolyte beverages will be provided in the transition area.

Run Course: A one-mile course featuring grass and trails, with an aid station at the start and halfway point.

Transition Area

The Transition area will be shared with the TRI for Real Triathlon. Parents should exit after assisting their kids. Body marking will be conducted at the entrance. All athletes must wear their race number on the front.

Awards

There will be age group awards three-deep for each one-year age group. Every finisher will receive a race finisher medallion.

The TRI for KIDS Series Awards will be presented to the top athletes at the final event on August 8th.

Race Day Schedule

• 6:30 am: Registration and Packet pick up open
• 6:30 am: Transition area open
• 7:00 am: Race announcements begin
• 7:30 am: Start of TRI for KIDS Triathlon

Entry into Rancho Seco Park will be closed from 7:30 am to 8 am due to bike course closure. Parking is available approximately one mile away.

Refund and Transfer Information

TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given as a TBF Race credit. Race transfers are allowed within a one-year timeframe for a $25 fee.

Race fees increase on race day. There is a $15 park entrance fee per vehicle.
