Race Overview

Get ready to run, walk, and gobble your way through the heart of Parker County!

The Weatherford Turkey Trot, hosted by the Young Business Leaders of Weatherford, is a fun, family-friendly Thanksgiving morning tradition created to bring our community together while giving back to a great local cause.

Whether you’re chasing a PR, enjoying a morning walk with friends, or bringing the kids out for their very first race, there’s a place for everyone at the Turkey Trot!

5K Details

• Course: The 5K course will wind through the Parker County Historic District, giving you a chance to experience some of our community’s beautiful and historic streets while getting your Thanksgiving morning miles in.
• Time Limit: The 5K will have a 1 hour and 30 minute time limit, so there’s plenty of time to run, walk, or enjoy the course at your own pace.
• Course Map: Course map coming soon!

Kids 1K Event

• Age Group: The Kids 1K is for our youngest Turkey Trotters, open to children ages 12 and under.
• Location: The 1K will be held on York Avenue and will have a 30-minute time limit, making it a fun and relaxed way for kids to get moving and be part of race day.
• Family Participation: Parents participating in the 5K are welcome to join their children for the Kids 1K, so the whole family can enjoy the morning together!

What You Get

• Race T-Shirt: Official Turkey Trot race T-shirt
• Finisher Medal: Finisher medal (first 650 to register)
• Race-Day Experience: A fun race-day experience supporting our local community
• Race Bib: Please wear your race bib on race day. A bib is required to receive your official finisher medal.

Giving Back

• Beneficiary: This year, we are proud to support Center of Hope in Weatherford as the beneficiary of the Turkey Trot. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Center of Hope to support their work throughout Parker County.
• Holiday Donation: Participants will also have the opportunity to bring an unwrapped toy for Center of Hope’s Christmas toy drive, helping bring a little extra joy to local youth during the holiday season.
