Tidewater Striders Turkey Trot 10K & Mile

Race Overview

The 49th Annual Turkey Trot 10K and 1 Mile Run provides a traditional quality running event for families & runners of all abilities. All proceeds will go to our Scholarship fund.

Course Details

• One Mile Race: Starts at 8:15 AM - This is an out-and-back starting and finishing in front of the Mt Trashmore YMCA.
• 10K Race: Starts at 9 AM - This certified course loops through Windsor Woods, ends at Mt Trashmore City Park, and finishes back at the Y. Strollers are allowed, but please start at the back. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
• Holiday Tradition: Both races are family-friendly, with deeply discounted youth registrations.

Amenities & Post-Race

• T-Shirts: Long-sleeved T-shirts for all participants. Early sign-up is recommended to guarantee a shirt and size.
• Post-Race Party: Complimentary refreshments for race participants and volunteers in the YMCA parking lot.
• Awards: Age group awards will be announced at the post-race party. Finisher medals will be awarded to all registered participants who complete each race.

Registration Information

• Early Bird Registration: $35 available through May 31st. Prices increase to $40 until October 1st, $45 until November 1st, and $50 until race day!
• Youth Discount: An $8.00 discount for ages 22 and under available through 11/26/26.

Toddler Turkey Wobble 50yd Dash

• Event Information: Bringing back the 50yd Toddler wobble this year. Registration is free, with all participants receiving a bib and a medal.
• Eligibility: Open for smaller kids who cannot run a mile. The race starts around 8 AM before the Mile.

Awards

• 10K Overall Awards: Top 3 Overall Male & Female.
• 10K Age Group Awards: Divided into categories for male and female participants aged 12 & under, 13-19, and various other age brackets.
• Mile Run/Walk Awards: Top 3 male and female in age groups: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-19, 20-39, 40 & above.
• Finisher Medals: All finishers receive medals.

Event Time Limits

One Mile cutoff is at 8:50 AM. The 10K cutoff is at 10:45 AM.

• Male Record: 30:22 by Tommy Holland (1996).
• Female Record: 35:12 by Natalie Sherbak (2008).

Additional Registration Details

• T-Shirt Option: A $3.00 savings if you opt out of receiving a T-shirt: savings will appear at checkout.
• Packet Pickup: Registration & pre-registered packet pick-up will be held on Wednesday, Nov 25th, from 1:00 to 5:30 PM at the Mt. Trashmore YMCA.
• Discounts for Club Members: A $5.00 discount is available until Nov 25th: discounts are applied during registration.
