BRADASS 10k

Race Overview

Here's the story behind this race: Bradlee LaMontagne's life was cut way too short at the age of 21 on December 10, 2020. He was tragically killed by a negligent boat driver in Cozumel, Mexico. He was a Junior at Johns Hopkins and also the Captain of the wrestling team. He loved wrestling. He started wrestling in elementary school with Great Neck Wrestling Club and continued on until college. He was two-time captain of the Cox Wrestling team and a state finalist and two-time state placer, region champion, and had over 120 varsity wins. He was an NCAA All American Scholar at Johns Hopkins placing in the region.

Bradlee has 4 siblings and many family and friends. He was loving, kind, passionate and hard-working. He had the kind of energy and positivity that would fill the room and bring a smile to everyone around them. He will be forever missed and loved.

Notable Thanksgiving

One Thanksgiving of note, 2019, Bradlee wanted to enjoy Thanksgiving just like everyone else. Except when you're a wrestler, as some of you know, wrestlers cut weight so it's not as easy to just eat and lay around like most of us get to do. Around the holidays, it's pretty torturous especially when everyone is eating until their buttons pop off. Well, Brad wanted to eat and eat big, so he did what anyone would do, he ran 15.04 miles on Thanksgiving morning!! Let me say it again, 15.04 MILES JUST TO EAT! That is BRADASS!

Event Information

• Who: All Runners and Walkers
• What: 10k and 1 Mile run - Chip Timed Results
• When: November 22, Saturday - 8:00am. Arrive by 7:30
• Where: First Landing State Park Parking at the Narrows (Enter at the 64th street entrance)

Registration Details

• Packet Pick up: Bradlee's Wrestling Room, 2000 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA, November 21st from 4:00pm - 6:30pm
• Volunteers: Don't want to run the race but would like to participate another way? We could use volunteers! Just click the volunteer tab on the left or contact Alana Davis: acbdavis22@aol.com.
• Why: Proceeds will go to the Bradlee LaMontagne Memorial Fund
• After Party: 11:30am to 1:30pm at: ShoreBreak Pizza & Taphouse 2941 Shore Drive Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Any changes to after party will be sent via email.

• Finisher Medal: All participants will receive a finisher medal
• Park Entry: Entry to the Park is included
• T-Shirts: T-Shirts will be guaranteed in your registered size for those who register before 10/29/2025. If registering after 10/29/25, then the shirts are first come, first serve at packet pick up.

1 Mile Awards:

• Top 1 Overall Male &: Female: Overall results are based on Gun Time (first to cross the finish)
• Male &: Female Categories: 1st and 2nd overall under 12
