🎆 Race Overview

We are thrilled to bring you the Morningside Baptist Church Firecracker 5K. As far as we know, this is one of Huntsville's oldest 4th of July races. They missed a year last year but it's back! We made a few changes but we think you will like them!

Important: THE RACE IS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT! NO SWAPS OR EXCHANGES!

📅 Packet Pick-up

• Date & Time: Thursday, July 3rd, at Fleet Feet Huntsville from 12-5
• Location: 2722 Carl T. Jones Drive, Huntsville, AL
• Race Day Pick-up: Friday at Race Site from 6:00 am - 6:45 am
• Incentive: FREE Swiftwick Socks to the first 100 to get their race packets on Thursday, July 3rd at Fleet Feet.

👕 Shirts

• Options: There are white tank tops and grey tees and tanks, which are gender specific.
• Swapping: Please take what you ordered: we can swap out sizes or styles later.
• Brand: The Brand is Presidio, which is a premium collection.
• Preference: We hope you will love them!

🚗 Parking

• Preferred Location: IF YOU CAN, PLEASE PARK AT SOUTHSIDE PARK, 16159 Chaney Tompson Road, Huntsville, AL 35803.
• Details: Plenty of parking and bathrooms available:
• Access: From the park, hop on the greenway, just 1/2 mile to the church or race start. Garmin Connect (directions)
• Restrictions: Parking at the Church is somewhat limited: please don't block others.

👶 Child Care

• Service: Child care is provided by the church.
• Arrival: Please arrive early to get your child squared away with the church nursery.

🏁 Course & Race Start Information

• Start Time: 7:00 AM
• Course: The start will now be on the greenway. This is an out and back on the greenway with the finish at the church.
• Safety: Please RUN ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE GREENWAY to prevent collisions. Line up according to pace.
• Finish: The finish will be in the Church Parking lot.

🍩 Finish Line Food

• Provided By: The church will be providing baked goods and snacks inside the fellowship hall after the race.
• Special Treat: Fleet Feet will provide Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, and you will receive a ticket for your ice cream at the finish line.

🎉 Finish Line Activities

• Fun: There will be face painting.
• Recovery: Swift Recovery will provide COLD PLUNGES for after the race.
• Services: Return 2 Sport will be set up if you need assistance.
• Goodies: TOPO will have DEMO shoes and Megans's Apothecary will provide herbal teas.

🏅 Results & Awards

• Provided By: Awards are provided by Fleet Feet & Swift Recovery.
• Participation: Everyone will receive a finisher medal!
• Timing: We will try to do awards by 8:00 a.m.
• Closing: Then we will clean up and all go home and have a wonderful, safe 4th of July!

🌟 Additional Information

It's back! We are excited to bring you back your favorite local 4th of July Race! Race start time is 7:00 a.m. at Morningside Baptist Church.

The traditional post-race food will be provided by the church in the fellowship hall as in the past. Great News! The church will also be providing child care from 6:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Packet Pick-up: Packet Pick-up will be at Fleet Feet Huntsville on Thursday, July 3rd from 12-5. Race day packet pick-up will be at Morningside Church from 6:00 a.m. - 6:45 a.m.

Race Course: The race will start at Morningside Church and run out and back on the Aldridge Creek Greenway. There will be one aid station on the course at the turnaround.

Post Race Food: Home baked food from the church will be available.

Finisher Medals: Yes, there will be finisher medals!

Technical Tanks: Available for early registrations!

Awards: Age group awards will be provided by Fleet Feet & Swift Recovery.
