Firecracker 5K

Race Overview

We are thrilled to bring you the Morningside Baptist Church Firecracker 5K. As far as we know, this is one of Huntsville's oldest 4th of July races. They missed a year last year but it’s back! We made a few changes but we think you will like them! The race is officially sold out! No swaps or exchanges!

Packet Pick-Up

• Date: Thursday, July 3rd, at Fleet Feet Huntsville from 12-5
• Address: 2722 Carl T. Jones Drive, Huntsville, AL
• Race Day: At Race Site from 6:00 am - 6:45 am
• Note: Please do not wait till race morning. Incentive: Fleet Feet will give out FREE Swiftwick Socks to the first 100 to get their race packets on July 3rd.

Shirts

• Options: White tank tops and grey tee and tanks, gender specific.
• Swap: Please take what you ordered and we can swap out sizes or styles later.
• Brand: Presidio, premium collection.
• Choice: We understand that not everyone wants a tank, so an option is available.

Parking

• Main Parking: Please park at Southside Park, 16159 Chaney Tompson Road, Huntsville, AL.
• Distance: Only 1/2 mile to the church or race start via the greenway.
• Parking Limitations: Church parking is somewhat limited: do not block others in.
• Directions: For directions, visit Garmin Connect.

Child Care

Child care is provided by the church. Please arrive early to get your child squared away with the church nursery.

Course & Race Start Information

• Start Time: 7:00 AM.
• Course Type: This is an out-and-back on the greenway with the finish at the church.
• Running Guidelines: Please run on the right-hand side of the greenway to prevent collisions.
• Finish Line: The finish will be in the Church Parking lot.

Finish Line Food

• Baked Goods: Provided by the church in the fellowship hall after the race.
• Ice Cream: Fleet Feet will be providing Baskin Robbins Ice Cream: a ticket will be given at the finish line.

Finish Line Activities

• Face Painting: Available for participants.
• Cold Plunges: Provided by Swift Recovery after the race.
• Support Stations: Return 2 Sport will be set up if you need them.
• Chiropractic Fun: Functional Chiropractic will be there for support.

Results & Awards

• Medals: Everyone will receive a finisher medal!
• Awards Timing: Awards will be attempted by 8:00 a.m.
• Post-Cleanup: We will clean up and all go home and have a wonderful safe 4th of July!
