The Virginia Dream Mile is about celebrating the great distance of one mile. A race requiring fitness, strength, and speed. A distance with historical significance and that is challenging in its intensity. The Virginia Dream Mile has races for all ages and abilities and at the end of the meet, watch the pros compete! We hope to see you at the Virginia Dream Mile!

• Time: 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm

💵 Registration Details

• Cost: $20 by May 25 / $30 by June 9 / $40 late
• Meet Director: Coach James DeMarco
• Rain Date: Sunday, June 15, 2025
• Check-in: Main entrance to the Patriot Track & Field Complex: No race day registration

👥 Participation Rules

• Entry Limitations: All runners will be limited to racing 1 event.
• Timing System: A Fully Automatic Timing (FAT) system will be used for this event.
• Restroom Facilities: Available on site. Locker-rooms / shower facilities will not be available.
• Concessions: Will be available.

🏆 Race Categories

Men's Super Mile

The goal winning time of this race is sub-4:00. Entry into this heat will be a confirmed real time of 4:15 or faster. (1500 meter = 3:57 or faster). There will be 2 sections. High school runners are eligible.

Women's Super Mile

The goal winning time of this race is sub-4:40. Entry into this heat will be a confirmed real time of 5:00 or faster. (1500 meter = 4:42 or faster). High school runners are eligible.

🎶 Event Schedule

• 3:00 pm: Parking Lot Opens & Check-In
• 4:45 pm: Elementary School Mile (K-2nd)
• 5:00 pm: Elementary School Mile (3rd-5th)
• 5:15 pm: 5000 Meters (Coed Open)

🏅 Awards

The winner of each race will win the coveted pineapple. Why the pineapple? The Ancient Olympic Games had the victory wreath. The Indianapolis 500 has the jug of milk. The Masters has the green jacket. And the Virginia Dream Mile has the coveted pineapple! It is a great looking piece of fruit and fun to hold on a victory stand.

For each race category, the top 3 males and top 3 females will win a Virginia Dream Mile customized medal.

💰 Super Mile Prize Money

• 1st place: $1000
• 2nd place: $500
• 3rd place: $300
• 4th place: $150
• 5th place: $75

👨‍👩‍👧 Special Awards

• Fastest Family: Combined time of 3 family members with at least 1 female ($100 gift card)
• Fastest Couple: Combined time of 1 male / 1 female of any mile category ($100 gift card)
• Fastest High School: Combined time of 4 members of the same team / 1 must be a female (GoodR glasses)
